Stour Sailing Club

Stour Sailing Club The Stour Sailing Club is a small, friendly club located on the banks of the River Stour in Manningt Manningtree is also on the doorstep of the Dedham Vale.

Manningtree and the Stour Sailing Club make an great base for the many waterborne interests its members are active in. From competitive sailboat racing and multi oar Rowing in Skiffs, to gentle cruising in both power and sailing boats - we have an active fishing section and a good number of canoeists! Dinghies and canoes can be kept just a few metres from the water and we have 140 tidal mooring w

ithin an easy row of our Quaysides - what could be better! Visitors are welcome and increasing year on year as they get to know about this small attractive town that has all you need close at hand, including pubs, restaurants, shops, banks and a train service to London. Those who sail into Mistley but then go the extra half mile to Manningtree will find 3 visitors moorings or short-term quayside berth, and a warm welcome at the clubhouse. Above Manningtree the river becomes non-tidal. A small craft such as a canoe can reach Sudbury, about 30 miles further inland. The Stour Sailing Club is a great club to join so don't hesitate to get in touch if you have an interest - 01206 393924

Tomorrow's cake and coffee is in aid of Community First Responders

Who Are Community First Responders?

Community First Responders are volunteers trained by the East of England Ambulance Service in basic life support, to attend life-threatening 999 emergency calls.
Each fully trained professional volunteer on-call is dispatched by the ambulance service Emergency Operations Centre to attend and arrive at the patient’s location within 8 minutes. In a situation where a patient has suffered a cardiac arrest, every minute that passes decreases the patient’s chances of survival by 10%. In all cases where a First Responder is called an ambulance is also dispatched.
First Responder groups are self-funded and rely on kind donations and sponsors to provide us with the vital training equipment, uniforms and general running costs to stay operational.
