Wythenshawe Community Rugby Club

Wythenshawe Community Rugby Club We work with RFU, RFL, Sport England and Manchester Active to bring rugby all year round in Wythenshawe.

A sporting initiative set up in November 2015, to bring rugby to the people of wythenshawe, backed by sporting bodies RFU & Sport England along with local schools and community groups the first stage of development was at Manchester Enterprise Academy using their 4G rugby pitch. The aim was, and remains, to deliver rugby to the people of Wythenshawe bringing with it the discipline, respect, teamwo

rk, camaraderie and social aspects that are associated with part of the rugby family. The club has progressed well over the last couple of years, and now have use two full size rugby pitches along with a junior pitch and changing facilities at our new home in beautiful Painswick Park, in the heart of Wythenshawe. We have various mini & junior age groups who play local like-minded clubs in friendly fixtures along with a senior men's team who play within a competitive league structure. Our status as a community based club is growing along with our relationship with local council, community groups and Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre. Each year the club selects a charity close to the community, for 2022/2023 we are supporting "Rebuilding Lives UK" https://rebuildinglives-uk.org

New players, volunteers, members and spectators of all ages, abilities and skills are welcome to help grow our rugby club and build on the strong foundations secured over the last few years. Why not pop down to Painswick Park and meet the teams, try a training session, watch a match, make new friends and open a whole new world...

Contact us or keep an eye on our social media for latest information, events, training days, times and fixture list. This is a family orientated information page, abuse and intolerance of any kind will not be accepted, offenders will be immediately reported deleted and banned from interacting on the page.

So yesterday saw The Sale Sharks take on Bristol Bears in the last game of the season. Sharks ran out 38-17 winners on the day.
We took a number of our younglings down along with a few of the senior men to enjoy the day, some of them seasoned shark hunters and some of them this was their first rodeo but a good day was had by all.
Plenty of memories made and signatures collected.
We hope you all enjoyed it.
