Be honest… how many of these did you do in your first few games? 😂

Forgetting the glass exists.

Trying to absolutely MURDER a ball that needed about 4% power.

Shouting “YOURS!” while your partner is simultaneously shouting “NO, YOURS!”

And apparently deciding that your half of the court is… the entire court. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Then something happens.

You stop panicking.
You start understanding the glass.
You communicate a bit more.
You stop trying to smash absolutely everything.

And before you know it, you’re already trying to organise the next game. 💚

That’s padel.

Nobody starts knowing what they’re doing. You learn it by playing it.

Buying your first padel racket can get confusing very quickly.

And when you’re just starting, it’s very easy to assume:

More expensive = better racket.

It doesn’t.

The best first racket isn’t necessarily the most advanced one. It’s the one that helps you learn, control the ball and actually enjoy playing.

Comfort.
Control.
Forgiveness.

Then worry about the fancy stuff later. 😂

That’s a big part of why we started SmashPad. We want beginners to be able to choose equipment without feeling like they need to understand every technical detail before they’ve even stepped on court.

I didn’t start SmashPad because I was good at padel.

Far from it 😂

I started it because, somewhere along the way, we’d become like so many other families.

Too much time on screens.
Too much scrolling.
Not enough actually doing things together.

Then we found padel.

We weren’t brilliant. We didn’t need to be.

We were together. Laughing, moving, competing, taking the p**s out of each other 😂 and actually doing something we all enjoyed.

And it turns out…

we all needed it.

That’s really where SmashPad came from.

Yes, I want to build a successful business. Of course I do.

But I also genuinely want SmashPad to become the place that helps more beginners, parents, kids, couples and mates discover this ridiculous sport that somehow got hold of us.

You don’t need to know the rules.

You don’t need a £300 racket.

And you definitely don’t need to be good.

You just need to start. 💚

Nobody starts padel being good at padel.

Your first few games will probably be messy.
You’ll hit balls too hard. Forget the glass exists. Miss shots you were absolutely convinced you were about to bury. 😂

And that’s kind of the point.

You don’t need the perfect technique.
You don’t need the most expensive racket.
And you definitely don’t need to wait until you feel “ready”.

You just need to start.

Grab your partner. Your mates. Your kids. Another complete beginner. Get on court, have a laugh and work it out together.

Because padel gets a lot less intimidating once you realise everyone had a first game.

This is why SmashPad exists. 🎾

Padel can look intimidating from the outside.

The rules. The rackets. The jargon. Wondering whether everyone else knows what they’re doing while you’re still trying to work out where to stand. 😂

But the truth is, you don’t need to be good to begin.

You just need to begin.

For us, padel became something much bigger than a sport. It became a reason to put the phones down, get out of the house and spend proper time together.

And that’s what we want SmashPad to help more people discover.

We’re building this for beginners, families, couples, mates and anyone who’s looked at padel and thought… “I’d actually quite like to give that a go.”

No jargon. No intimidation. No convincing you that you need a £300 racket before you’ve even hit your first ball.

Just honest guidance, beginner-friendly equipment and hopefully a community that makes taking that first step a little easier.
