Huge congratulations to our team of Will Orridge, Mark Baxter, Rory Kearney Grant, Zak Mundy, Tommy Orridge and Paul Murphy winning the Middlesex Golf Presidents foursomes last weekend with a 3 - 0 win over Muswell Hill.
Will and Mark led the team out and were always ahead in their match, securing a 3&1 win on the 17th. Our two juniors Zak and Rory were out next. They started very strongly going 2 up early on but were clawed back by their opponents and stood on the 18th tee all square. A solid par on the long 18th left Muswell Hill needing to hole a 15 foot putt to keep the match alive, but the ball didn't drop. Great golf under pressure from the youngsters. Tommy and Paul had a very close match all the way round after recovering from being 2 down early on and they also stood on the 18th tee all square. A fine bunker shot from Tommy secured the par and the win for a clean sweep.
This was a great team effort on the day, and backed up a great run to the final by the squad. With scratch team captain Michael Peak unavailable and Stanley Campbell and Alfie Reynolds having returned to the US the win shows the depth of talent we have at Enfield. Well done to everyone who has represented the team this year.
