Over the past few weeks we've been sharing top-line insights from our latest NOWCA Network Trends Report. Here's what the data is telling us across the network in 2025:

⭐ +15% growth in total swim volume (2024 to 2025, like-for-like)
⭐ 7.7 swims per active swimmer per year, up from 7.0
⭐ +28% growth in the 60+ age group - the fastest growing demographic across the network
⭐ 15km - the median distance swimmers travel to reach a venue

Taken together, these numbers paint a clear picture: open water swimming is growing, swimmers are more committed than ever, and the venues positioned to capitalise on that growth are the ones with the right data, the right systems, and the right support behind them.

We are excited to welcome STILL WATER RETREAT to the NOWCA network!

Open water swimming enthusiasts now have a new destination in Shropshire to explore. This tranquil lakeside venue is located at Woore Fruit Farm in Crewe and combines the restorative qualities of natural water swimming with carefully managed facilities designed to support both experienced swimmers and those taking their first open water strokes.

At the heart of Still Water Retreat is its natural spring-fed lake, providing swimmers with a refreshing and immersive connection to nature - where every session is lifeguarded. Designed as more than just a swimming venue, visitors can complement their swim with a wood-fired sauna, paddleboarding and SUP yoga sessions, creating a holistic wellness destination where movement, relaxation and the natural world come together.
