Rayners Lane F.C. are deeply saddened by the passing of Grant Nivett, who sadly passed away yesterday, 3rd September 2026. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
Grant will forever be remembered at ‘The Lane’ for his unwavering dedication to the club and the tireless work he carried out as a member of the Rayners Lane committee over many decades.
His contribution to football extended far beyond Rayners Lane. He was heavily involved with various Middlesex referees’ associations and was also a qualified referee himself, taking up the whistle for many years.
Grant’s dedication to both youth football, supporting players at the beginning of their football journeys, and veterans’ football, helping those in the latter stages of their playing careers, created countless wonderful and lasting memories.
Above all, Grant will be remembered as a truly kind and decent man. His honesty, integrity and willingness to help wherever he was needed will remain an enduring part of the wonderful legacy he leaves behind.
Everyone at Rayners Lane F.C. would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to Jenny, Wendy as well as all of Grant’s family and friends at this very sad time.
Rest in peace, Grant. You will always be remembered at The Lane.💛💚
