You don't need the full kit to be a cyclist. You do need a helmet.

The Ventete aH-1 is now in white, in the shop and ready to try on.

It replaces foam with pressurised air. Swiss made, certified to EN 1078 like everything else on our wall, and independently tested by HEAD Lab at Imperial College London against thirty of the best-performing helmets in the UK. It came out with a 44.1% lower linear brain injury risk than the best foam helmet in that group.

Folds to under 4cm. Backpack, desk drawer, suitcase. Thirty seconds on the pump and you're riding.

Sizes S, M, L. Now £185, down from £350. Eligible for Cycle to Work.

Reynolds 725 steel frame, Shimano CUES 2x10, 45mm Maxxis Ramblers, full mudguard and rack mounts. Commuter Monday to Friday, gravel bike at the weekend.

£1,699, or a lot less on Cycle Scheme. We build it, fit it to you and throw in the first service. You can't test ride a bike from a website.

New groupset? Save your money. Do this instead.

If you want your bike to feel faster, you change the wheels. Nothing else comes close.

Fresh OROME Valar carbon wheelset from Elves just landed in the workshop. Toray T800 rims, ceramic bearing hubs, tubeless compatible. And they're going on my own custom Elves Mori build.

Fitting power meter pedals? Three things almost everyone gets wrong.

Grease the threads. Use the washer. Torque to spec.

Skip the washer and the pedal eats into your crank arm.

Skip the torque wrench and your power numbers are off, which means every session you've trained to is slightly wrong.

Two minutes of care on a very expensive pair of pedals.

Hire a proper Bike Box Alan hard case, collect it from us, drop it back when you're home. No cardboard box gamble, no waiting in for a courier. And if you'd rather not wrestle with packing it yourself, we can do that for you too.

Sportive in the Alps, a week in Mallorca, a race the other end of the country. Get your bike there in the same nick you left it. 🛡️
