Morning all 👋 A little reminder that we will be closed on Wednesday 10th June to attend a funeral.

Finally, panic not when you see the empty cake display this morning- our wonderful cake angel will be making her heroic delivery this morning so there’ll be no need for any tantrums😉

💚💚💚Right, let’s make this fundraiser a blast!

Since you’re a coffee lover and a supporter of this wonderful charity, how about we merge the two?

Who would like to win 100 coffees? Yes, you heard that right—100! Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, the choice is yours.

To enter the draw, simply purchase a raffle ticket for £3. That’s it. Simple.

Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind: the winning prize must be claimed within 12 months and you can only have one coffee or hot drink per day. No bringing a whole team of friends to get 82 iced mochas and 18 hot chocolates (with all the extras)! That might not be the best idea, just a heads-up.

Also, cash only or scan our QR code and make a payment directly to our Just Giving page— card payments get super complicated mixed with the business takings.

What you can do though is buy as many tickets as you like— the sky is the limit!

Tickets available from Tuesday; entries close on July 18th.

Winner will be announced July 19th and will be notified directly by myself. Please don’t fall for any scams (you know who you are)😉

We will be closing at 12:00 today for our annual coffee machine service and PSSR check🛠️

It’s Monday already and the forecast has taken a turn but I’m not going to pretend I’m not thankful for the respite. Last week got silly hot and we all did a terrible job trying not to complain!

So, back to normal today with sunshine, showers, cooler temperatures and the kiddo’s back in school.

Fully loaded with ice and plenty of bakes so whether you’re off to work, walking the hound in the refreshing rain or starting those A levels, we’re here for you.

Another sleepless night of fidgeting in the heat and worrying about poor old Gloria.

Little update for those who are interested and fully invested in the trials and tribulations of the old girl.

She has another oil leak and we are still waiting on parts (thanks to the BH weekend) but she is drivable, just.
The lovely Chris who fixes her and patches her up when things go wrong is off on his holibobs next week so we have a couple of weeks of checking the oil and keeping everything crossed!

So let’s give it a whirl and see what happens, besides, I’ve missed enough perfect iced latte days, and can’t wait to get back!

Think that sums it up perfectly.

So Big G is back at the garage but fear not, she’s in very good hands.

Sadly it’s an engine out job again, meaning no coffee for a couple of days I’m sorry.

Seals, plugs, gaskets and the left phalange(😉) getting replaced but we’re confident she’ll be running sweet once she’s had this latest trip to motoring A&E.

I’ll keep you updated as I know more but in the meantime… 😜

Wowzers! Glad I got home before the monumental hail storm yesterday! No more of those today please.

Quick note to the new customer who arrived at the van yesterday morning.
The poor chap looked bemused at my iced drinks board and ordered 2 iced honey and cinnamon lattes.
As the temperature was hanging around 6° I felt compelled to point out that the hot drinks menu was just on the side of the van. It was not, I’d not put the menu out! So the poor bloke, still looking slightly confused stuck with his original order probably thinking I was slightly mad.

2 iced honey lattes later, I forgot the cinnamon on one (something I keep doing) and he toddled away.

I would just like to apologise for the disorganised service you received- please come back, I am better than that😜

Serving iced and hot drinks from 7:30am, sometimes you’ll even get what you ordered but arrive before 7:30 and it’s anyone’s guess😉

Anyone up for a stroll?

This year myself, Mr P, , and will be taking part in our fifth Mighty Hike for Macmillan Cancer Support💚26 beautiful miles in the Peak District.

We have been out stomping most weekends and during these training walks we’ve been discussing the all important fund raising. It’s always difficult to ask people to keep digging deep and supporting our hikes but then again, it’s the reason we put in those gruelling miles! Every penny raised helps this incredible charity continue their important work.

So what can we do to involve you lovely lot? Some of you may remember the walk we organised about ten years ago to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society- it was a huge success and along with having a great walk and a natter, we raised a whole heap of money!! So let’s do it again.

This year we are asking you to join us on a training walk from Barry to Llantwit. Why Barry this time? Well, there’s a train station so easy breezy to get to the start without involving buses and then we walk the 13.5 miles back home.

We will finish at The Old Swan where we can kick off our walking boots and enjoy a well earned pint in the sunshine with a bowl of cheesy chips!!

How do we raise the money?
Each person taking part makes a £15 donation. No asking friends and family for sponsorship and every penny raised will go directly to MacMillan.

So it’s a bit of a Saturday social, walking, talking, exchanging stories and supporting each other along the way.

We would like to add that the coast path is very steep and uneven in places so not suitable for young children and also best you leave those pooches at home too- 13.5 miles is not to be taken lightly.

If the distance is putting you off, feel free to join us along the route, we’ll be more than happy to see you.
