Bank Holiday Monday. End of August. ☀️

So I thought I’d finally get round to something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.

I’ve started writing a few bits down.

Fishing, tackle, things I’ve picked up over the years and probably a few stories from the shop along the way.

Calling it ‘Tackle Shop Tales’. 🎣

First one’s about 10 things I wish someone had told me when I started sea fishing.

Others gave us everything from herring and sprat to sardine and tarpon.

THINGS I HEAR IN A TACKLE SHOP 🎣

Probably the question I get asked more than any other:

“I want to catch a seabass. Where do I fish?”

My first answer is usually:

“You mean a bass?” 😂

After that, we’ll talk properly.

Where you’re fishing.
What the tide’s doing.
Time of year.
What gear you’ve got.
And whether you’re completely new to it or have been fishing for years.

There isn’t really one magic mark I can point everyone towards. 🪄

But if you come into the shop and tell me what you’re hoping to catch, I’ll always try and point you in the right direction.

Even if you do call it a seabass. 😂

HYBRIDS RESTOCKED 🎣

Had a decent top-up of the Raglou Hybrids today, so the wall’s looking healthy again. 🐟

These combine the traditional Raglou body with a lead head and they’re blimmin’ deadly for bass worked over sand and around rocky ledges.

We’ve also got a new size in the Hybrid Pelagics. 85mm, 24g with a 3/0 hook.

Pop in and have a nose.
