LIVERPOOL IRISH ROVERS – MONDAY SOCIAL 💚🤍🧡

Monday night social from Greenbank – Dave’s route great to have him back.

A good few of us got out for the warm up mile and then at 6:30pm we all took on Dave’s 6k route instead of the usual 5k! 💪 to everyones delight 🤔

Dave’s route tonight was:
Right at top of Greenbank Rd, cross Queens Drive, left down Palmerston, cross Rose Lane, up Pitville, down Booker, turn right down Brodie back to Rose Lane, then a finishing wiggle 🤣

Thanks to Barry, Jenny and Portadown Kev for navigating the group from Dave’s directions – top job! 👏

Big shout to Brian and Dovy Kev who were tonight’s walkers – great to have you both out! 🚶‍♂️💚

A great squad out tonight – class turnout as always!

And at the end we presented two of Saturday’s Croxteth Hall parkrun pacers with their socks for hitting their time on the snout 👃🧦🎯

Huge congrats to Paulo D and Lizzie Folkes – Daddy Folkes received them for her! Class pacing! Also great to see the infamous Daniel O Donnell bag resurface - genius😃 💚🤍🧡

💚🤍🧡 OUR CROXTETH TAKEOVER – EVENT #487 – 24th October 2026 🌬️ 💚🤍🧡

What a day today for Rovers!

We were out early for set up under a beautiful red sky, clearing a few branches to make sure the route was safe for everyone.

Sandwiched between 2 storms, we had *337 people* run, jog and walk the course – amazing turnout! 🙌

It was brilliant to welcome *41 first timers / tourists* to Croxteth!

As your pacers for the day 🇮🇪☘️ we loved helping *44 of you smash new Personal Bests!*

Another successful Rovers takeover of Croxteth Hall parkrun we had plenty of people saying we helped them pace to a PB which is always great to hear thanks to all the Vollys for taking part

We also had runners at Princes, University of Northumberland and Donabate 🇮🇪

Good luck to Paul Mc and Vicky on the Dublin marathon tomorrow

Run Report; Danny Williams the thruth 🤥

Tonight's Run

Forget scary movies... the scariest words heard in Liverpool tonight were: "There will be no Pat’s Brews after the run." 😭😭😭💔
Our worlds were momentarily shattered at the Liverpool Irish Centre , especially with a smaller crew than usual! Ando was MIA at a "slumber party" (surely there’s a story there... 🛌👀), so Kev stepped up to lead the charge.
We swapped the hills for the classic Newsham Park route, glowing like a Christmas tree in our safety lights as we debated the near-death experiences of the recent Treasure Hunt! 🗺️🚴‍♂️

We regrouped at the world-famous bin, snapped a mid-way photo, and then my legs decided to turn to lead.
Naturally, that’s when we hit "Newsham Park Mountain." Lungs screaming, legs burning, we conquered the summit and made it back to base—where the tragic reality of NO POST-RUN BREW hit us all over again. ☕️❌

We’re saving all our energy to refuel this weekend!

Walkers led by the legendary Dave 👏 and runners led to the cemetery by Paulo D 🏃‍♂️💨

Great to see everyone in lights, bright colours and reflectors – shining bright out there! 🔦✨

Huge Rovers welcome to Gill, Elaine, Rosie and Mike – great to have you with us! 💚

Plenty of chat on the way round – some of us talking Belfast in December ✈️ and others still buzzing about how good Sean Magee was on Saturday night 🎤🔥

Steep steps or a steep footpath? Pick your poison! ⛰️🧗‍♂️🟢
The rain held off just in time for the Rovers tonight! We gathered at the Irish Centre, celebrated a birthday for one of the young guns, welcomed our returners, and marvelled at Pat’s brand new First Aid kit... which lasted about 20 yards down the road before hitting the deck! 🩹🚑 (Luckily, no emergency medical attention was required for the kit itself 😂).
We sprinted down Islington Mountain to cheers from local students, reached the base of Everton Hills, and split into two brave teams to conquer the summit.
After waiting for our heart rates to drop below 200, we snapped a half-way photo, dodged the pub without any drama, and trotted back to base. Naturally, I had to do extra car park laps because my watch was on strike again ⌚️🙃... but it was ALL worth it for the shed spread: Pat’s Brews, Moams, choccy biccys, AND birthday cake! 🍰☕️🍬
Think your Thursday nights could use a little more hill climbing and cake? Great to welcome all newcomers and our prodigal son Gary Owen after his travels 🇮🇪🇮🇪
