The Blues U18s season has come to an end. The side were three games short of finishing their league season as they came 5th (out of 10 teams) in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League Central Division.

The Blues U18s, though, won the Veo Suffolk Boys Midweek U18 Cup as they defeated Hadleigh United (3-1, A), Walsham-le-Willows (4-2, A), Bury Town (3-1, A) and Brantham Athletic (4-0, at Debenham LC) before winning 5-4 against Needham Market U18s in the final at Felixstowe & Walton United FC.

Now that I have managed to pull myself together after an emotional last ever presentation for our Saturday under 16’s team I can now thank the people that I wanted to do on Sunday. Firstly there would not have been a team if it was not for Beth Smith, she formed the team many years ago and coached the most important years of the boys and girls development and gave me the opportunity to come on board around 4 years ago. Thanks also to the amazing coaches that have supported me along the way, Lee Reid, Gerald and Ollie George have been a great help and could not have done it without them. The pitch has been maintained to such a high level and has continually between the best pitch in all leagues we have played in, so big thanks go out to Jim Mayhew, Shane Strowger and most recently Ben George. I would also to like to thank Druce Estate Agents for sponsoring the home kit, tracksuits etc and Titchmarsh & Goodwin who have sponsored the away kit over the last 2 seasons. We have also had 2 amazing lady’s who have raised so much money for the kids by running the tea stall in all weathers so a big shout out goes out to Dee and Kelly. Thanks to all the dads who have had the thankless job of running the line especially Tim who did it every game this season. My final thanks goes to all boys and girls past and present who have done them selves proud by representing the club to the standard the club holds dear. Cheers Matt (Stretch)

THANK YOU STRETCH 🙌🙌🙌

At today’s Presentation Day for our Saturday Youth teams, the club gave U16s manager Matthew Strowger an excellent send off.

After four seasons, Matt guided the team to the Division 5 title two seasons ago and also won the cup. The team were also promoted last campaign.
