U12 Northern Counties (9 a-side) competition tomorrow (Saturday 30th May) at Picky - county matches against Shetland B at 10am and Shetland A at 10:40am, followed by the Northern Counties involving Caithness from 11:30 onwards.
The U11 development league (7 a-side) is also on from 10-12 and the U13 league continues on Sunday afternoon so lots of youth football to enjoy over the weekend!
Thanks to Lows Orkney for sponsoring the U12 Northern Counties, to Liam McArthur for helping with ref duties and to OYDG's main sponsor R. Clouston Ltd for their continued support.

Please mark the date in the diary. The plan for the football is to get teammates, friends and family involved who want to remember Steven by taking part in a fun friendly match. It can be for just 5 minutes or 90 minutes depending on age and fitness!

Any Thorfinn guys please get in touch with Gray, Paddy or Peem.
For the Pomona Samba team please get in touch with James Tait or Jon Tait.

The Thorfinn team will play in Thorfinn colours while Pomona Samba will be in red Aberdeen/Orkney colours. The more old school tops on show the better!

Thanks to Orkney Hockey for sorting out temporary toilet facilities at Picky, kindly provided by Casey Construction Ltd. This short term solution will benefit literally hundreds of youth players (and supporters) at both club and county level, for use during training and OYDG competitions where we host visiting teams from Shetland, Caithness etc.

The previous toilet facility also included a changing room - if anyone knows of any suitable portacabins that could be used short term for changing rooms then please get in touch because a more permanent solution is some way-off unfortunately.

This year’s JIC Hockey girls are jumping for joy after the long awaited arrival of a temporary toilet facility at the Picky hockey pitch.

After a period of over 6 months with no basic toilet facilities, all at Orkney Hockey would like to thank Casey Construction for their support and coming to our rescue with this game changing addition to our club.
This will make a huge difference to our current players, coaches and spectators meaning they no longer have to make the long trek down the path and through 2 car parks!
As a result, we have also been able to start our primary coaching sessions again 🙌🏼

While this is amazing news, it is unfortunately only a temporary solution while we wait for our changing block to be replaced.

Thank you again to Casey Construction for this fantastic boost by being a key supporter for our sport in the community ❤️🤩

OYDG U13 squad travelled across the water to play Caithness U14 on Saturday 16th May. It was played in Castletown, on a very big grass pitch. The Orkney squad never gave up and perhaps on another day could have scored a few goals. However, the slightly stronger Caithness team took their chances in front of the goal.
Well done to Caithness for organising the game.
Thank you to our main sponsor - Clouston’s for their continued support of youth football in Orkney and a huge thank you to Northlink for their sponsorship which helps to make trips like this possible.

OYDG U13's welcomed Thurso U13's across the water, to play at Stromness 3G on Saturday 25th April. Both squads had enough for 2 teams and 11 a side matches were played at 11:30 and 13:00. There were some closely contested battles with both squads playing well.

OYDG would like to thank Thurso for coming across to Stromness and we look forward to the return games in Thurso at the end of May. Also a big thank you to Liam McArthur for refereeing both games.
