There were some high spirits after the Men’s Championship at Wrag Barn. The heat got to some people, but others seemed to thrive.
Guy Drayton’s brilliant 5 under par 67 on day one was the score to chase heading into day two and he managed to hold on, winning by two shots with a gross score of 145. Louis McDiarmid and Adam Jelly both finished on 147, with Louis taking second place on countback. If anyone thinks they are experiencing a déjà vu moment when seeing the picture of Guy holding the trophy, it’s the second year running that he’s achieved the title of Wrag Barn Men’s Champion and we’re proud of his achievements.
The only player to finish under handicap across the two days was Edd Herbert, who took the net prize with a fantastic net 141. Russ Arkley came second with Glenn Shaming in third.
A huge thank you as always to the team behind the scenes who run the competition, collate the scores and provide expert counselling, food and beer to our merry band of golfers.
The prize table was generously sponsored by Fish Brothers Toyota Swindon and we’re hugely grateful for their support.
