We’re proud to introduce our brand new Dry Swimming™ sessions launching this April.

For a limited time only, the main pool will be completely drained and transformed into a state-of-the-art low-moisture aquatic experience, filled to the brim with thousands of soft, buoyant balls.

Perfect for all ages, this innovative session allows you to practise your front crawl, backstroke, and even your most ambitious dives… without getting a single hair wet. Ideal for those who love swimming but hate the inconvenience of water.

Sessions will run throughout the day, with supervised splash-free fun and zero risk of soggy goggles. Standard swim rules apply (no running… although we admit it’s tempting), and spectators are encouraged to watch as participants attempt their best “lengths” across the pool. Book early to avoid disappointment… this one’s expected to make a big splash without the splash.

Highworth Adults Swimmers Group has 4 spaces available for swimmers with novice to intermediate skills/fitness and 2 spaces for strong swimmers.

If you can cover 2 lengths without stopping, or a lot more, this lovely friendly group invites you to:

We have swimmers who can cover just two lengths who then need a short breather before going again right up to ex-club swimmers who cover 2km+ in the session…

You can improve your swimming in a methodical unpressurised way that is usually only available in a Masters level competitive swimming club, but without the pressure to compete/race.

Please note: We are unable to teach beginners how to swim however, that is not possible in this group. If you want to learn how to swim contact your local leisure centre.

We do have practice drills, games, timed swims for those who want to and, crucially, sweet treats 🍱 to help refuelling after the session!! We also have occasional social gatherings outside the pool environment🍕🍔🥗🥟🍦🍰🥂🍷🧃☕️

A few tips for wannabe fly swimmers… however the biggest error I see in folks learning ‘fly is not being fit and strong enough in the first place… you need to be able to hit a good speed 50 front crawl and have stamina for at least 10 lengths front crawl imo to stand the best chance of success and, more importantly, avoid injury.
Also there’s no shame in popping fins on although I find they do compromise my timing quite easily so beware.
Mastered it’s a fab stroke!
