Stoneham 4-3 Rockets
This morning the u13 Rockets travelled over to Stoneham for what proved to be a really competitive test for the lads.
We fell behind early on against a very direct Stoneham side, who looked to play into their big striker at every opportunity. It took us a little while to adjust, but once we did, the boys dealt with the threat much better and showed great character throughout the game.
Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take away. The lads battled from start to finish, played some really good football in spells, and showed they can adapt to different challenges. It was also great to see so many players stepping into different positions and doing an excellent job, which speaks volumes about their attitudes.
Parents' Player of the Match goes to Teddy. He was a constant threat leading the line, showed fantastic strength, timed his runs brilliantly, and capped off an excellent performance with two well taken goals. A thoroughly deserved award.
Coaches' Player of the Match goes to Louis! He was given the tough task of dealing with Stoneham's big striker and handled it superbly. He helped shore us up defensively, read the game well, and absolutely bossed his role at the back. A top performance.
