🏉 NEW SEASON. NEW BATTLES. NEW CHAPTER. 🐺💜

Yorkshire RFU are keeping on our toes this year with a "Final. FINAL" league structure for this upcoming season!

The new league structure for Yorkshire Rugby has officially been confirmed (again) for the 2026/27 season; and it’s set to bring some fresh rivalries, new challenges and a huge new era for grassroots rugby across the county!

Yorkshire Rugby are launching a long-term 3-year plan focused on growing the game, increasing player participation and building stronger, more sustainable clubs for the future. 🙌

One of the biggest changes?

Lower XV teams are now entering the league pyramid, with leagues becoming more regionalised to improve competition and reduce travel across Yorkshire 2, 3 & 4.

For Aireborough, that means a season packed with NEW opposition, fresh away days, and some proper tasty fixtures ahead 👀🔥

The league may look a little different this year… but one thing stays the same:

⚔️ Nunroyd will be loud.🐺 The Wolfpack will travel.💜 And Aireborough will be ready for battle.

Fixture announcements coming soon… 👀

🎨🌭 COMMUNITY, COLOURS & CHAOS AT AIREBOROUGH RUFC! 🐺💜

What a fantastic weekend down at Nunroyd Park as we welcomed Tranmere Primary School for an unforgettable Colour Run! 🌈☀️

From start to finish, the place was packed with smiles, laughter and LOTS of colour flying everywhere 😅 Huge credit to everyone involved in making the day such a success!

Our Club Chairman was on the grill all day serving up hot dogs and burgers like a seasoned BBQ professional 🌭🍔 while our First Team Captain somehow managed to get involved in absolutely everything… including becoming an actual walking paint explosion by the end of the day 🎨😂

A massive thank you as well to our amazing committee members who kept the tuck shop running smoothly all day — fuelled mainly by sugar, teamwork and pure community spirit! 🍬☕💜

At Aireborough RUFC, we’re incredibly proud to support our local community and events like this are exactly what grassroots sport is all about ❤️

Thank you to everyone from Tranmere Primary School who came down and made the day so special — we loved having you at the club and hope to see you all again soon! 🐺💜

FULL TIME: Aireborough RUFC 17 – 56

Well… if you like your rugby served with a side of heatstroke and harsh life lessons, this one had it all ☀️🥵

First half?

They came out like they’d double-booked theatre and needed to finish us off early… clinical, sharp, and playing the width like absolute pros.

Us? A step behind. Missed tackles, loose passes, and a few too many “that’ll do” moments… which, spoiler alert, did not in fact do. Medics punished everything. And we mean everything. By halftime, they’d built themselves a lead that was about as comfortable as sitting in the shade with a pint 🍺

Second half, different story 👀

Aireborough finally woke up, got the bit between the teeth, and started throwing some punches of our own 💥 Carrying harder, tackling like we meant it, and actually asking a few questions of the Medics defence.
And surprise surprise… we can actually play a bit.

If we’d started the game how we finished it? Who knows. Might’ve been a very different afternoon. Instead, we left ourselves with too much to do and a very good Medics side made sure we paid for it.

Try Scorers:

🔥 Mikey Dolan
🔥 Semm Donzo
🔥 Will Girt

Man of the Match 🏆 Semm Donzo was unreal out there 💥
Big carries, big hits, big talent. Back-to-back games with a try and he’s only 17… that’s frightening for the rest of the league 😮‍💨

Dick of the Day 🤦‍♂️ David Krushell
After trying to keep the ball in play… while already stood in touch.

It went about as well as trying to push a “pull” door — full confidence, zero awareness, and absolutely no chance it was ever working...

Massive shoutout to every lad who pulled on the shirt today! The effort in that second half showed what this group is capable of 💪

And just like that… that’s the season done.

😅 Some tough days
🔥 Some big performances
🤦‍♂️ And a few we’ll politely pretend never happened

But through it all — the graft, the laughs, the chaos — it’s building something.

Now it’s time to rest up, recharge, and maybe remember what weekends feel like without sore legs and questionable life choices.

We go again. Bigger. Stronger. Better. 🐺

⚔️ THE FINAL CHAPTER ⚔️

It all comes down to this.

After a long, gruelling season full of battles, setbacks, and moments of pure class… Aireborough RUFC travel to face for the final game of the campaign.

🆚 Leeds Medics & Dentists
📍 Weetwood Playing Fields, LS16 5PS
⏰ Kick Off: 15:00

This season has been about rebuilding, reshaping, and laying the foundations for what’s to come. And now, the lads have one last chance to put it all on the line and finish with a statement.

Expect big hits.
Expect passion.
Expect a team that refuses to back down.

Your support has been unreal in these final weeks — let’s make one last push together. Get down, get loud, and stand with the boys as they close out the season 💜

One more game. One more fight. One more time.

🏉 LAST DANCE OF THE SEASON 🏉

That’s it… the final chapter. The last roll of the dice. The end-of-season “one more pint, go on then” fixture 🍻

This Saturday, the lads hit the road one final time as Aireborough RUFC travel to Leeds Medics & Dentists for our last game of the season.

⏰ Kick Off: 15:00
📍 Weetwood Playing Fields, LS16 5PS

It’s been a long, bruising, character-building season. But through it all, the boys have stuck together as we continue to reshape, rebuild, and rejuvenate over the summer.

Think of this one as the season finale…

Will there be drama?
Will there be chaos?
Will someone pull a hamstring in the warm-up?

Almost certainly.

One last push. One last battle. One last chance to finish the season the Aireborough way 💪

Get down and back the lads!

Stay tuned for the post-match scenes… they rarely disappoint 😅

Up the Borough!

🏉 Battle of the ‘Boroughs’ Ends in Thriller ☀️

Knaresborough 38 – Aireborough 33

In glorious sunshine ☀️, Aireborough travelled to Knaresborough for the latest chapter in the “Battle of the Boroughs” — and what a contest it turned out to be. On a pitch that felt about twice as wide as it should be 😅, both sides threw everything at each other in a high-tempo, end-to-end clash.

We knew it would be physical coming here 💥, but the lads rose to it in style. Aireborough produced a full catalogue of tries — slick moves from open play ⚡, old-school close-range power over the line 💪, a beautifully executed rolling maul 🔁, and a couple of sharp breakaways straight through the middle 🚀. It was attacking rugby at its best.

However, the difference today came down to fine margins. Knaresborough were clinical, punishing our mistakes with real tenacity. A few missed tackles and lapses in concentration proved costly, and to their credit, they kept pushing in the heat — finding space out wide and at times cutting straight through us.

🔥 Try scorers for Aireborough:

Mark Howarth 🏉
Chris Chapman 🏉
Will Warrington 🏉
Sean Walsh 🏉
Ethan Marshall 🏉

A huge positive on the day was the impact of our Under 18s debutants 👏
Sean Walsh ran the show with confidence beyond his years — dictating tempo, carrying hard, tackling even harder 💥, and capping it all off with a well-earned debut try.
Not to be outdone, Ethan Marshall put in a massive shift — big hits 🧱, intelligent lines, and a try of his own in a standout performance.

⭐ Man of the Match: Ethan Marshall
A proud moment for the club to see such a strong senior debut. Fully deserved 🙌

(And we’re all secretly glad it’s not Adam Bishop on it again this week 😂)

🍺 “Dick of the Day” 🍺

No explanation needed… having a beer before kick-off?! Come on, Ryan Selby — have a word with yourself 😂

Plenty to be proud of despite the result 💜

The future is bright for Aireborough, and the signs are there for something special building 🌟

🔜 One more to go.

We finish the season against Leeds Medics — so let’s bring the noise 🔊 and end it on a high! 💜🏉

🚨 TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT | AIREBOROUGH vs KNARESBOROUGH 🚨

There’s a proper blend on show this weekend… youth, experience, and a touch of Yorkshire Cup-winning magic 💜

Huge moment for Sean Walsh and Ethan Marshall, who make their senior debuts fresh off their Under 18s Yorkshire Cup Final victory last weekend – what a way to step up. Buzzing to see what these lads bring!

We also welcome back Collum Honague, Chris Chapman, and Matt Jones after some time away… hope you’ve stretched, boys – no easing into this one 👀

Second to last game of the season, and we’re ready to rip in. Knaresborough always bring the fight, so expect a proper battle from the first whistle.

📍 Away at Knaresborough
⏰ 3:45 KO

Get down, get loud, and get behind the lads. Let’s bring the noise 🔥
