Here we go!! 🏎️💨

This weekend we are racing at Snetterton with the British Superkart Racing Club in the 125 open class!!

I’m beyond excited to have the opportunity to learn a new circuit which is known to be one of the fastest we have here in the UK!

A massive thank you to Ross Allen and Jade Karts for letting me use their awesome set up again. Let’s hope we can put on a good show 🤞🏻.

Throwback to last weekend at the Superprix!! 🏆

An incredibly busy but amazing weekend for me as I was doing both the demonstrations in the Ak and coaching at Jade Karts!

I had the honour of being awarded the class 4 post classic concourse award!
I got this award in 2024 as well, it’s amazing to be awarded these trophies as it makes all the hard work and effort put in by mainly my dad but also me worth it!!

A fantastic weekend which was ran brilliantly with support from British Historic Kart Club members alongside Shenington Kart Racing Club - SKRC - to be able to run along side such a huge meeting and show others what the historic karts are capable of is mega!

Retro Kart Championship round 4 at Cumbria Kart Racing Club, Rowrah!!

Arriving on the Thursday evening we got prepared for the day ahead on Friday, due to both the heat and not wanting to put more running hours on the engine than needed, I only did the Friday afternoon testing.

I found my feet incredibly quick and began to make huge gains in my times and both the set up of the kart.

Moving onto the Saturday. As it was our turn to have a Saturday heat, we had limited practice during the day which meant we really needed to crack down on the setup and get it as good as it possibly could be for the first heat.

HEAT 1:
P6 - P4
A semi good start in this heat allowed me to make up to positions off of the start however at the second hairpin I was driven over which hindered my progress.
After recovering back from 9th to 7th I had to make back up for a huge gap that had been created between me and the lead pack.
Once I had found my groove again and set a new LAP RECORD at a 45.458 I then began to pick off the other drivers in front to claim 4th position.

HEAT 2:
P13 - P5
After avoiding a collision at the start I was on the back foot and needed to chase back up to the rest of the field.
After gaining ground on the other drivers I then worked my way through the field and also set the fastest lap of the race at a 45.706.

HEAT 3:
P5 - P4
After making great progress at the start of the race I was in 4th and fighting for 3rd position.
However after a few laps and making even more progress I was driven off the circuit and dropped down to 7th.
After making my way back up the field I then had managed to gain back my previous position of 4th.

The FINAL:
after very consistent with my finishing position in the heat I was starting in 4th position.
After making a good start I was already in 3rd position by the end of the first lap.
After biding my time and watching where the driver in front of me was making mistakes I made my move and inherited 2nd position at the top of the circuit.
For many laps I was hunting down 1st position and gaining serious ground each lap.
However it all came to an unfortunate end when my engine seized with just 3 laps to go.

Another unfortunate end to what could have been an amazing result. But , that’s racing.
Even with finishing 3 laps earlier I still held fastest lap of the race with a 45.699.

I was also nominated for driver of the weekend by Malcolm Fell! A huge honour coming from both the clerk of the course and the owner of the circuit.

A huge thank you to Matt Fells for getting the kart turned around so quickly after Fulbeck and for being a mega mechanic,as always.

Fulbeck gearbox festival CHAMPIONS 🏆!!

The weekend finally came where 125 classic was able to represent themselves on livestream along with KZ and 250’s for the Fulbeck Gearbox festival!

On the Friday I was out in both karts! A huge thank you to JAM transport for getting the KZ there for us safe and sound. With being out in the KZ it really supported my driving in the classic and allowed me to push my driving further.

On the Saturday I did all day on the classic. Going out in the morning I found my feet very early on and was already into the 41’s. Throughout the day we made small changes to the set up to suit the blistering heat.

Sunday:
Heat 1:
P9 - P3
P1 in class🏆
After getting an average start, I had a lot of work to do in the 8 minutes available. After picking through the field I found myself in a good battle for 2nd position in class whilst also continuously putting in the fastest laps of the race!
After successfully hunting down 2nd place and inheriting the position by a brave overtake on the brakes at the top hairpin, I was now set on getting into 1st.
However 2 laps later, first position retired allowing me to inherit the position anyway.
LAP RECORD: 41.21

Heat 2:
P1 - P1 🏆
P1 in class
After leading the pack off of the start, I managed to successfully pull away but had second place on my tail.
After most of the heat included me defensively driving to put off the driver in second.
After managing to pull a significant lead, I had pulled away from the driver in second which now meant I could focus on only getting quicker.
Although I did not manage to go any quicker than the 1st heat, I was still fastest in my class.

Heat 3:
P14 - P3
P2 in class
After a red flag on the original start (all drivers are ok).
On the second start I hung back ever so slightly so I could get a better perspective on what was playing out In front of me.
After gaining four positions on the first lap I then continued to average around a position a lap until there was 3 minutes left from the end.
At this point I found myself fighting for the podium positions in my class which meant I now needed to really fight for a higher position in track.
After making my move into the top hairpin I got into 2nd position and now was in a battle with the other class in order to catch up to first place in my class. I did not manage any further up the order than second.

THE FINAL:
Due to my good results in the heats I started on pole for the final.
P1 - P1🏆
After getting a very poor start due to engine bogging down I found myself in 3rd overall by the first corner. This meant that I really had my work cut out.
After fighting for several laps I managed to get into 2nd position. However I lost it a few corners later due to locking up going into the chicane due to a problem which I will reveal later…
After fighting long and hard with a driver from my class and a driver from Formula C I finally managed to get into 2nd place overall and 1st place in class due to them having a collision!

After getting into 1st position the race was then bought to a close early due to the collision however I still held my WIN!!!

Even better, I did most of the final without any rear brakes!! The union to the rear calliper had come slightly loose and was leaking brake fluid EVERYWHERE. Very, very lucky that the race wasn’t much longer! 😳

An absolutely amazing weekend which also resulted in my being given best newcomer also known as driver of the weekend!!

A massive thank you to Sue and Andy fairless for number 1, inviting the 125 classic class along to the gearbox festival to open us up to a wider audience and number
2, creating an absolutely amazing engine for me which has been worked to perfection. ✨

A huge thank you to Matt Fells, without you none of this would be possible and this win is something we have both waited for, for a very very long time.
All of the hard worth was finally worth it.
