Tomorrow's Amateur Championship final at Hoylake is a timely reminder of the four occasions we've been fortunate to host this prestigious event: first in 1957, the all-American final in 1967, in 1984 when Jose Maria Olazabal defeated Colin Montgomerie, and most recently in 2009 when Matteo Manassero became the youngest winner.

Best of luck to tomorrow's finalists, and congratulations to Hoylake and West Lancs on a great week.

Good luck to Team GB&I in the Curtis Cup today. Here's a look back at the 2004 match at Formby, that remains a proud part of our Championship history.

The Curtis Cup begins tomorrow at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

We were honoured to host this prestigious match in 2004 - as remembered by archivist Ian Jamson. Fingers crossed the GB&I side can replicate the US victory from 22 years ago, winning on foreign turf.
