Today marks 10 years since Arnold Palmer's passing - a man who graced Birkdale regularly during his peak.

The King played in five Open's here, winning in 1961, and was part of the US's victorious 1965 Ryder Cup side, where he won four points.

He is most remembered here for his shot from the bush on 16, en route to his Claret Jug.

The stands are gone and our links is returning to its normal state, but we'll never tire of looking back at these images...

The Walker Cup is one of golf's great occasions, and last weekend's match will go down in history as the greatest ever.

We're proud to have hosted the event in 1951, when the US were victorious 6 points to 3, with three halved matches.

We're delighted GB&I enjoyed a very different outcome this time.
