What a way to round off Falmouth Sailing Week! ⛵️

Last night we hosted the final night of Falmouth Sailing Week at Flushing Sailing Club, and it was brilliant to see the club and quay so full of people, from old faces to new, young and old.

It’s been a fantastic week of sailing, with mixed weather conditions, plenty of competition and some great racing across all the fleets.

We handed out the final prizes for Saturday’s race, as well as celebrating the overall 3-day and 6-day series champions. 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Falmouth Sailing Week happen again this year. From the organisers and race teams to the volunteers, sailors and everyone who came along and supported the event. We couldn’t do it without you!

We’re already looking forward to seeing you all again next year. But in the meantime, if Falmouth Sailing Week has got you wanting to get back out on the water, come and join our Flushing Sailing Club Crewing Group and get involved this summer. 🌊⛵️

Venturers Suki, Finlay and Alfie of Team Helen Mary R 2025 and Luca of Team Helen Mary R 2024 are co-sponsors of Polly’s place on the 2026 offshore expedition. Suki raised funds in her Dip A Day Challenge in which she swam in the sea every day in October 2025. Finlay and Alfie collected donations from attendees at the Falmouth Week 2025 prize-giving event and Luca’s contribution was part of his Cornwall coast path walk. Says Finlay: “I’m so glad that my contribution has benefitted Polly to be able to do such a thing and hopefully she’ll have as much fun as I did.”

🌘 Two weeks to go until the Falmouth Week Air Display and a 95% partial solar eclipse, both happening on Wednesday 12th August. Here's what you need to know before the big day. 👇

ℹ️ Getting here:
🚉 Take the Maritime Line, a twice hourly rail service between Truro and Falmouth. All trains will terminate at Falmouth Docks as the Falmouth Town Station will be CLOSED for the day.
🚌 Regular bus services connect Falmouth with Truro, Redruth, Camborne, Helston, Penryn, Flushing and beyond. Local town shuttle services also operate throughout Falmouth.
🅿️ Church Street car park will be closed for the duration of Falmouth Week but there are plenty of alternative public car parks across town.
🚧 A number of town centre roads will be closed at various times throughout Falmouth Week. Please plan ahead if travelling by car.

🛩️ On the day:
⛵ A vessel exclusion zone will be in place on the water from 5.30pm.
⚠️ Drones are restricted across the whole of Falmouth while the display takes place.
🪂 The air display will begin at 6.15pm with the Royal Navy Raiders, followed by the Aerosuperbatics WingWalkers and finishing with The Flying Comrades.
🛍️ Expect it to be busy, so allow extra time and use public transport where you can. Avoid post-display delays by heading into town to enjoy all that Falmouth has to offer before heading home.

☀️ Watching the eclipse: The eclipse runs from 6.18pm to 8.10pm, reaching maximum coverage at 7.16pm. Remember, NASA is clear that standard sunglasses, polarised or not, don't protect your eyes, only certified eclipse glasses meeting the ISO 12312-2 standard are safe.
