🎉What a fantastic day at Elgin Bridge Centre’s Café Bridge yesterday!🃏☕️🥧

What a day! Lots of bridge, lots of laughter, plenty of food and cake — and, most importantly, a brilliant group of people who came together to make it such a success. ❤️

A massive thank you to the venues who opened their doors to us and went above and beyond to accommodate our bridge players.

A huge shout-out to Scribbles— thank you Faith for all your support and for helping make the day run so smoothly. ❤️
And thank you to The Muckle Cross Wetherspoons, Elgin and Pizzeria Planta. The food and staff at all three venues were excellent, and you genuinely went above and beyond to look after us. We really appreciate it! 👏👏

🥧 A special thank you to Christies Butcher for helping me out with the pies! There was a fantastic selection and they went down an absolute treat — everyone loved them! And we’ve even managed to convert Jenny to macaroni pie… she’d never had one before! 😂🥧❤️

A huge thank you to Victor Lesk and Caroline Bottoms for running the event. You two are absolute pros — somehow you even managed to play as well! 👏🃏

And finally, my biggest thank you of all goes to my amazing firefighters — the people who stepped in, helped, solved problems, kept me calm and generally made sure everything happened when it needed to. I honestly couldn’t have done it without you:

It really was a wonderful example of what can happen when a community comes together — and I’m so grateful to everyone who played, helped, donated, provided prizes, served food, made cakes, bought raffle tickets and generally got stuck in.

📣 And finally… the important bit!

The raffle takings are currently being calculated, and once we’ve got Mark’s figures, we’ll be able to announce exactly how much we have raised for **CLAN Cancer Support**. 🤞💰❤️

Hopefully we’ve done ourselves proud!

♠️♥️ Elgin Café Bridge 2026 ♦️♣️

Registration is now OPEN for Elgin’s second Café Bridge event, taking place on **Thursday 27th August**!

Come along for a fantastic day of bridge, friendship and fun while enjoying play at a variety of welcoming local venues across Elgin. Whether you're catching up with old friends or making new ones, Café Bridge offers a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

We’re delighted to be raising funds once again for **CLAN**, our local cancer charity, helping to support people and families across the area.

Last year’s event was a huge success, with delicious home bakes provided by our members, great venues, plenty of laughter, and a wonderful opportunity to mingle with fellow bridge players. We’re looking forward to making this year even better!

Congratulations to the Class of 25/26 on completing the Beginners Course!
They now head into a summer of practice and consolidation before deciding on the next step in their Bridge adventure.

👏🏻 Congratulations to Carole Lovie and her team from Aberdeen Bridge Club on their first Cafe Bridge held last Wednesday. We had a fabulous time and loved catching up with those of you we know as well as meeting and getting to know some of the other members.
😉I even got to have a little tipple 🍷 as Sean was driving.
For those of you who haven’t attended a Cafe Bridge and would like to try one for yourself or if you are a regular Cafe Bridge attender, save the date for the Elgin and Perth Cafe Bridge events on the 27th August and 28th August respectively. Bookings due to open soon. 🔜

What a lovely Saturday night we had! 😊

We kicked things off with a fantastic curry night at Panache 🍛 before heading back to the centre for an evening of bridge. It was so nice to see everyone in a different setting, relax, chat, and really enjoy each other’s company outside the usual tables. Nights like these remind us that bridge is about so much more than just cards — it’s about friendship, laughter, and being part of a welcoming community ❤️

If you’ve ever thought about learning bridge, why not take the plunge? We have lessons starting this September, and we’d love for you to join us. It’s a great way to meet new people, keep your mind active, and become part of something really special.

🙌🏻 Congratulations to Anna and Tony Thompson who were the highest placed pair from the Elgin Bridge Centre heat of the Hugh Kelsey Cup for beginners.

🤩 They came in a creditable eighth place out of 73 competing pairs. Full results can be seen on the Elgin Bridgeweb site

🎉🌉 Elgin Bridge Congress is BACK and re-birthed! 🙌🏻♠️♥️♦️♣️

This weekend, Elgin Bridge Centre proudly held its first Congress since Covid times — and what a fantastic weekend it was! 🎊

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success:
