Duchess. Just fabulous.

She even canters nicely when I can't sit on my bruised coccyx.
Note to self, don't stand with my back to an open gate on a windy day. It hurts when it slams on yer butt!!!

We are having all the fun this Summer.

It's a pony Summer!!!

It's looking to be scorchio 🔥 tomorrow pm and the whole of Thursday.

So, no pony riding tomorrow afternoon or all of Thursday The riding school will be closed.

We are still open tomorrow am

The ponies will be having a siesta, and enjoying baths and pampering instead.

See you Friday and beyond. ###

The legend that is Sunny. Helping to teach 'how to move a horse's shoulders' and 'the importance of horse and rider having good vertical balance'.

Verity, here riding Sunny, giving clear and subtle signals, while ensuring Sunny finds it easy, by sitting still and straight and vertical.

What a beautiful horse Duchess is, we feel so privileged to be trusted to have her here.

She's settling in really well.

Poppy riding her here, giving a clear canter aid then sitting in a neutral balance, allowing Duchess self carriage.

The steering will come.

It takes time to create a masterpiece.
And every horse is an individual, unique. Our riders work quietly to help the horses become the best they can be.

Poppy riding with empathy, and always praising the try.
Praise the horse for trying their best praise the rider for trying their best too.

Then the best just gets better.

A little snippet from today.

Poppy riding Duchess.

Working on Duchess not rushing and using momentum to trot.
Instead, she is being trained to step under, bend her joints, to be able to lift her body in a good balance as she trots.

The horse's strength and coordination are improving all the time, thanks to clear and kind riding, and correct exercises to improve correct biomechanics.
