Senior teams Saturday match reports! A tricky week for DCC.

1st XI v King Stanley CC

After losing the toss, Dymock were fielding. King Stanley CC openers got off to a flyer until Josh Brawn and James Field pulled it back. We regained some control in the middle period with some great fielding from Xander Rodgers, Ollie Smith and Brawn looking to stem the rate. Wickets were shared across the board and King Stanley ended on a score of 245.

Field and James Green got us up to 66-1, with a steady good partnership. Field was unfortunately dismissed 2 shy of 50. DCC ended up 158 all out. The first team is back at The Pound this week to face Cinderford St John CC.

2nd XI v Bream CC

A tough day at the office, facing top of the league. Losing the toss we were put into bat, with quick falling wickets the run rate was slow, a few lofty blows from Tom Churchill (23) saw us to 57 all out. We then managed to keep them out there for 14 overs, with some outstanding bowling from player of the match Maisie Dodd.

We go again this week, away at Goodrich.

Finally, our first midweek win of the season 🎉🏏

We got off to a brilliant start with Matt Barratt smashing a quickfire 42. At one stage, it looked like he might beat J. Field to the 50 mark, with James sitting on 19 after 6 overs. But slow and steady wins the race — in the space of just 3 overs, James Field had overtaken Matt and eventually finished on a superb 90 before nicking a low one through to the keeper.

Matt and James made batting look easy compared to the rest of the team, helping Dymock finish on 167-4 from our 20 overs.

Then it was our turn with the ball, and a solid spell from Tyrone at one end, alongside an even better spell from our mystery spinner James Thomas (3-15), saw Dymock reduce Churchdown to 40-3 after 10 overs.

The rest of the attack backed it up brilliantly, with another standout performance from Mr Field, who bowled 2 overs for just 2 runs and picked up a wicket. Churchdown eventually finished on 121-8 from their 20 overs.

A brilliant all-round team performance and a well-deserved win 👏

Next week we’re away at Highnam Court 🏏🏏

A double win for Dymock!! Check out Saturday’s match reports below.

1st XI v Corse & Staunton CC
The 1sts continued where they left off last week with a strong win against local league rivals Corse & Staunton.

Dymock won the toss and chose to bat on a warm day, we started well but after a few quick wickets were reduced to 115-5. Dymock then kicked on with a strong partnership between Lucas Holford and Dan Gale allowing us to finish on 198 off their 40 overs with opener Gale being dismissed with 3 balls remaining on 95.

Dymock bowled and fielded superbly following up from last week with strong bowling spells from openers Chris Lambert and Jake Wise setting the tone. Corse and Staunton were restricted to 125/8 off their 40 overs with Josh Brawn and James Thomas taking wickets at key times and James Field bowling his 8 overs for 10 runs, unlucky not to get in the wickets himself, leading to a comfortable win for Dymock!

2nd XI v Westbury-on-Severn CC
A solid start from the Dymock openers, York Senior 64, gave Oliver Williams the platform for a virtuoso performance. Shots all round the wicket and good running saw him reach his 50 in good time (finishing on 59) before Dave Williams biffed a quick 25 to see us up to 198/8 from our allotted overs.

Early pressure from pick of the bowlers S. Cale (8 overs 1 for 18) put the opposition well behind the run rate. Dave Williams strong performance achieved 4 for 18 before late order resistance called for the skipper to come out of bowling retirement to claim the last wicket leading to a win!
Player of the match goes to Oliver Williams.

U15s cup game v Aston Ingham, a report from our junior coordinator!

An amazing performance from all, so proud to see that the training is paying off. Fielding was spot on, and solid batting. It was diffcult to pick a man of match, from Flynn’s 2 wickets and Gabe's cracking 31 runs, but it must go to Tobais with his 4-16 and a knock of 21, wonderful caught and bowled. Special shout out to Flynn's run out and Ethan's gutsy call for the winning run 💪🏏
