Race Report Oulton Park - Fiesta Junior Championship Rd 7 (17th Oct 2026)

Quali - P6 (of 26)
Race One - P5 (+fastest rookie lap!)
Race Two - P6

Getting closer! A top 5 finish to round off the year, but more importantly enough championship points to do our bit to assist with securing the 2026 Teams Championship for 20Ten Racing.

Tomas first ever time on wet tyres on the Friday practise (Oulton Park is NOT the place I'd have chosen for his first time on wets), and then a very early Qualifying on a cold and damp track on Saturday morning, tricky conditions and losing a lap that would have given P3 due to track limit.

In both races, running right up there with the best drivers on the grid was a pleasure we hope to experience more of next season.

We would like to congratulate our teammate Dara on the Championship win, and thank also for helping a very shy lad settle into a new team and feel right at home. The same goes to Tomas other teammates this year who it has been a pleasure to race with - Rhys, Max and Lewis.

Next to thank greatly is our team - bosses Simon, Ollie, our race engineers Monty and Nigel, and the rest of the guys at 20Ten. The whole experience has been simply amazing, a great atmosphere, massive confidence in their attention to detail, and some interesting curry nights after the days racing has finished!

Finally, our coaches who are clearly the best in the business. Pete, Jenson and Ash. You've managed to get a new driver fighting at the front end of the grid after just 4 race meetings, and the fact that all the team drivers have such an exceptionally high race-finishing rate is evidence that you don't just teach them how to be fast, you teach them something even more important - how to finish races. Some competitors we just get used to seeing arriving back in the paddock after a race on a breakdown truck. Not with this team.

Next year, a full season to contend but in the meantime we will be testing, testing, testing (and a little bit of karting).

Roll on 2027.

For the final time this year - it's race week.

And it promises to be the most exciting one of the year. The technically demanding Oulton Park. With its blind, high speed corners requiring full commitment, dramatic changes in elevation and little run off for just the slightest mistake make this an intense place to drive.

Two weeks since Silverstone, and two weeks until Oulton Park.

It was a bitter pill to be smashed off the track and into retirement in Race One, after good pace in practise and qualifying, and then spending the rest of the weekend fighting through from the back of the grid.

Together with teammate Rhys and family, who was also taken out of the first race, we knew the lads starting from the very back on Sunday could still deliver a top ten finish if they worked hard - and they delivered! P9 and P10.

It is very early days in cars, but we are taking away some more confidence knowing that if we can qualify top 5 at Silverstone then we can do it again at the next round.

Race Report Silverstone National – Fiesta Junior Championship Rd 6 (18 Sept - 20 Sept)

Quali – P5 (of 29)
Race One – DNF
Race Two – P14
Race Three – P9

Just three sessions to learn the track on Friday, and then straight into Quali on Saturday morning. Immensely pleased with P5 and just two tenths off Pole.

Race One – a car behind forced another into a spin which then collected us at turn 2, and sending us into retirement. Absolutely gutted to have lost a real shot at a podium finish but glad the car missed the barrier, and after checks had sustained only cosmetic damage. DNF

Race Two – starting at the very back of the grid because of the DNF, and taking no risks in order to ensure making it through to the final race. This race turned out to be an exercise in accident avoidance, with 10 cars not classified by the end. P14

Race Three – a good battle in the midfield with lots of overtakes and more valuable experience. Really happy to be inside the top 10 by the end of the race. P9

Huge congratulations go to our teammates this weekend – Dara taking the 2026 Championship win in style with a win in Race Three, and equally delighted to see Lewis take his first podium after coming so close on multiple occasions!

For ourselves, we feel that the pace was good but clearly more race experience needed for now. That’s still only really 5 completed races under our belt, so we now look ahead to the championship finale at Oulton Park in just under four weeks time.

P5 in Qualifying yesterday here at Silverstone, and off to a great start in Race One.

Sadly a couple of cars behind came together and collected Tomas while he was in touching distance of the front pack.

A racing incident and unavoidable, but the DNF means we start from the back of the grid for Race Two at midday.

Here we go - its Silverstone!

Testing kicks off on Friday with Tomas having never turned a wheel here - the first time he will have arrived at a circuit with nothing but Sim experience behind him. It's going to be a new challenge but hopeful of adapting quickly.

We are looking forward to this.

The greatest challenge of the year so far for Tomas at Donington on Tuesday evening - spending a couple of hours on track with the sole purpose of gently running in a new race motor and resisting the temptation to use the full rev range!

A few snaps from Oulton Park this week, learning the circuit and building up the speed on this fast, technical and scary track. Playing a little bit with setup but mainly here to increase confidence and be ready to race here in October.
