The greatest challenge of the year so far for Tomas at Donington on Tuesday evening - spending a couple of hours on track with the sole purpose of gently running in a new race motor and resisting the temptation to use the full rev range!

A few snaps from Oulton Park this week, learning the circuit and building up the speed on this fast, technical and scary track. Playing a little bit with setup but mainly here to increase confidence and be ready to race here in October.

Thank you to Finley for the pictures, including a good demonstration of how NOT to make entry into Cascades (unless in a drifting competition)!

Race Report Brands Hatch – Fiesta Junior Championship Rd 5 (14-16 Aug)

Quali – P9 (P8 after a DQ in front)
Race One – P10 (3rd rookie)
Race Two – P8 (3rd rookie)
Race Three – P12 (2nd rookie)

Really, really happy with the first hiccup-free race weekend. Lots of experience gained, especially in race two when fighting with the front running pack, and a level-headed approach thanks to the driver coaching from Jenson and Pete at 20Ten Racing.

The hard-earned P8 start in Race 3 didn’t quite work as hoped after being unable to filter to the inside line at the race start, and trying to hold around the outside at several corners was a bad decision, leading to 7 places lost in the first two laps. A couple of overtakes made, but then, in the latter half of the race, losing all momentum at Graham Hill bend when having to back out of a move and dropping to P16. Lessons learned.

Confidence growing but the next race at Silverstone will be the same approach – aiming for consistency and building experience by bringing the car home in one piece and finishing each race.

TOP TEN!

Really happy with todays Race One result. After the disasters at Donington last month, things nearly went badly again after using 3rd gear at the restart and dropping from P8 to P16!

A fast and determined recovery drive and finishing an unbelievable 10th overall with all to play for tomorrow in Races Two and Three

Repaired, prepped and ready!

It's the fifth championship weekend of the 2026 campaign and we are off to Brands Hatch to take on the Indy circuit.

The championship is going from strength to strength and we're expecting another big grid!

Race Report

Donington Park – Fiesta Junior Championship Rd 4 17-19th July

An absolute pleasure to have completed Tomas’s first race weekend – even if things didn’t go his way.

Friday practise pace was more competitive than expected for a debut. Carrying lots of speed through the corners and making real gains in the braking zone.

Qualifying session started and Tomas first flying lap was well inside the top 10 before a red flag and session halted briefly. On the restart, getting caught out by tyres having cooled more than expected in the pitlane, he made a mistake losing the rear in the long, fast Coppice corner which ended his qualifying. All other drivers improved as tyres came alive leaving Tomas P28 of 29 starters.

Race One – Good start making a few places but a car ahead spinning at turn 3 required avoiding action across the gravel and Tomas dropped a long way from the back of the field. Fortunately, a safety car allowed him to catch up the pack with just a few laps remaining, and a few more overtakes. P23 finish.

Race Two – sheer inexperience parking on the grid spot without a view of the start light gantry! Lost a mass of places but made some back on the first lap, before being involved in a huge pile up at the esses which badly damaged our car and many others. DNF.

Summary: The qualifying error compromised the weekend and put him in harms way, but confirmed to us that we are in the right place with a hugely supportive and experienced team who ensured that the qualifying damage (broken engine and rear body damage) wouldn’t stop us from being out for the race.

With the car now fully repaired, we move on to Brands Hatch in a couple of weeks time.

It's race week!!

From stepping into a race car for the first time last summer at Blyton Park, to gaining the Motorsport UK competition license, and to putting in countless hours of practise both on the simulator and on the track, we can finally say it's time to see what we can do!

The car, built by Auto Reserve and Mark One Motorsport, is fully tested, fast and ready for its first event.

We head for Donington Park for testing on Friday, followed by Qualifying and Race One on Saturday. Race Two on Sunday.
