Well done to Fia Beetlestone and Alfie who have represented Holme Valley at the Arena Eventing Championships today at Aston Le Walls. A fantastic double clear with no time faults saw them come away with an amazing 8th place out of the whole country. Superstars, and we are so glad to have you in our HVRC colours! 🥳💜💛

A delayed report from Area 4 Show Jumping at Epworth yesterday. What a hot day we had! Firstly, huge thanks to our volunteers. Without whom we would not have been able to compete, so thanks to Clare, Michele, Margaret and Rebecca for being out in the heat yesterday.
First up we had Paula Dunning on Summer in the Senior 70, who hadn’t been out competing for some time after Summer had been out of action. However, what a return they had, a fantastic triple clear with super speedy jump off to take the win. Then, again after a few months off, Ellie Wilkinson was back out on Bobby with a fantastic clear in Round 1, just rolling a pole in Round 2 but was fast enough and clear in the jump off to take 4th place. We then turned to our second Junior in the 80. Bea Hosker’s first time representing the club. Bea had a great first round with a cheeky run out a scary wall hanging filler that had caused problems all day and just rolling the last pole to finish on 8 faults. Unfortunately, a stop in Round 2 resulted in the pole falling, so they rang the bell to rebuild but poor Bea thought she was eliminated so left the ring. However, we live and learn and Bea will know in future that if the fence needs rebuilding they will ring the bell to stop the time. Next up was our Senior 80 Team. Rachel Turner rode a fabulous triple clear for third individually, Rebecca Johnson rode a fabulous double clear with the last fence in the jump off falling and Lauran Dunning, couldn’t be out done by Mum Paula, rode another fabulous triple clear with a speedy time to take the individual win as well!! Unfortunately fourth team rider Rosie had trailer trouble and didn’t make it, but the team of three finished on zero to take the win! So yet again, another fantastic day flying the HVRC flag 💜💛. Thanks again to everyone at Area 4 for running a fab day, our volunteers and supporters! Next up Horse Trials.
