A tribute to our history, our heritage, and the lives we will never forget. 🕯️

​We are honored to share the photos of the newly unveiled memorial—a restored pit tub dedicated to the 13 men and boys who tragically lost their lives in the Higham Colliery disaster.

​When a devastating explosion ripped through the pit seam, 13 lives were cut short, leaving a profound mark on our community. This memorial stands as a permanent mark of respect, ensuring that the sacrifice of those who went down into the dark to power our future is remembered for generations to come.

​May they rest in peace.
