Don't just train muscles, train transitions.

The human body is constantly trandfering foece from one side to the other - stabilising, reacting, adjusting, rotating.

This lateral lunge to knee drive is a dynamic compound exercise that blends lower body strength with core stability. Primarily targets the glutes, hamstrings, quads and helps to build that explosive power and single leg control.

Life isn't always straightforward, sometimes it pushes us sideways. Do this, and you'll be ready πŸ˜‰

We have to do hard things, so we can do hard things..

Some folks think that strength training is dangerous. What's dangerous is lacking strength.

Building strength doesn't care how old you are. Show up consistently. Lift heavy (heavy for you). Eat your protein.

Give it stimulus. Your body will respond.

That's it.

24days out until my Big Adventure!!!

The last few weeks have been busy with high mileage, dodgy tummies, combining training with work and family commitments too.

The training - that's easy.

Life though, that can be soooo hard to navigate when you're an average person trying to train like an elite athlete 😬

So big shout out to all the amateur athletes out there doing normal jobs, juggling work and kids, and never ending washing and STILL nailing training. πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

We don't need MORE equipment or fancy gyms.

We need BETTER movement selections.

The reps, the weight you use, the rounds you do, is all up to you. All I ask is: just move..πŸ€Όβ€β™€οΈ

We should never take our bodies for granted. We MUST train them, nurture them, feed them, and treat them with respect. And if all done properly, they can do incredible things for us πŸ’›

Listening to that heavy rain last night, I texted my running partners and said: I'm not running in that tomorrow, I just got my hair blow dried today!! πŸ’‡β€β™€οΈ

He didn't take me seriously. I was. I looked damn cute that momentπŸ‘ŒπŸΎπŸ˜†

Where was I going with this post? πŸ™ˆ

Oh- ...rather do than don't.

So off I went early Sunday morning, and 2hrs later, I looked AND sounded like a wet dog!

I had to remind myself very quickly that the woman who gets results isn't doing anything magical.

She's just not stopping.
She's not second guessing.
She's not coming up with excuses.

She's focused. And occasionally looks
like a wet dog.

Fitness is a lifestyle; an opportunity to move and connect with people through what I love to do best. I'll never take that for granted.

We are nearly half way through this year, so how are YOU doing? ✨️

The greatest gift I've ever given myself was permission to dream big, so that failure could always be part of the equation.

There's that space between the result and the dream where the grind becomes more permanent- you know, where the magic happens. (Hope it makes sense 😁)

You know: the perfect rep; that PB; your coach beaming with a smile because you've achieved the thing you never thought you could πŸ˜‰
