Last Saturday, our under 12 side travelled to Carmarthen on 7 June to compete in the Welsh 7 Series for the first time and gave a great account of themselves in the green and black.
Following convincing wins against Builth Wells and Eryri Barbarians in the group stages, there was a narrow loss to eventual winners Carmarthen which set up a semi final against Swansea 7 Guns - an invitational team consisting of players selected from seven clubs in the Swansea region. Cowbridge pushed them all the way before going down 21-7. Carmarthen beat Pontyclun in the other semi final.
The video shows a try from Oliver Williams (number 11) who scored four tries in total, and one by Tomos Knox after a typically mazy run by Joseff Rodgers, Cowbridge’s player of the tournament.
The event was very well organised and the standard high. Entry details for next year’s tournament will be shared with all relevant age groups in good time, and hopefully we can have a strong Cowbridge representation in 2027.
