Matches this weekend!

The 1sts finally get another game at home after the RFU postponement played havoc with the fixtures. They host Burton who are scrapping round the relegation places but in reality are probably going to finish up the top half of the table. It will be a tough test but the boys have proven they can mix it with anyone

The Lions travel to Bromsgrove a week after the 1sts and are in for their only game against another 2nd XV this season. Hopefully the boys can get some revenge for the 1sts after last week

The Accies travel to Kenilworth who are flying high in the Warwickshire leagues this year. The boys are good for a win if they haven't had too many beers the night before so hopefully their social calendar isn't too exciting this weekend

The Phoenix travel to Banbury in a return fixture after winning convincingly at home. The undefeated season marches on and the target on their back is getting bigger, hopefully they get a similar outcome to the last time they played but away from home offers different challenges

This Weekend's results!

A tale of 2 halves in the bad weather for the 1sts and Lions, both teams ahead at half time and looking good for a win! Both teams failed to score in the 2nd half and fell to defeat just outside of gaining the bonus points

The colts went to Stratford and put on a dominant display with a few regular faces back in to bolster the squad after school and college games have caused havoc with selection so far.

The Phoenix (Women's XV) put on a hastily arranged friendly and welcomed Silent Vikings, a narrow win but the ladies still march on undefeated!

This Week's Team News Drop

The 1st XV travel to Bromsgrove, Tom Bates makes his 1st XV league debut for the club after impressing in the Lions. Vili and Kiunga follow him up to the squad but sit on the bench with Isileli Tava returning from injury and slotting straight back in to the starting pack.

Adam Bruce, last year's leader of the Lions during their victorious season returns to the side. A debut for Harvey Matkin who joins us from Nuneaton after a couple of seasons featuring for them in Level 5. Will Morgan returns for his first game back after long term ankle injury had ruled him out, a welcome return for the influential metronomic kicker.

The colts have had an influx of players during the school half term so will be heading to Stratford full of confidence. Stratford probably in a similar position so we are expecting a tough match.

Good luck to all the teams, go well

Only 3 Games this week!

1st XV go to Bromsgrove with both teams sitting on 2 wins from 4 games. The Fortress Finstall, as the locals have dubbed it, is always a tough place to go but the hospitality has always been great, even better when you can sneak a win

The Lions host Woodrush who look like the team to beat in the league at this stage. A win at home will put the cat amongst the pigeons in the league and indicate our intent, a loss will show where we need to be in order to be in the promotion mix

The Colts travel to Stratford in the Warwickshire league, it's been a mixed bag so far with performances and availability this season so hopefully we can pull a good weekend out the hat this time around.

Winners are Grinners this week!

The 1sts collected all 5 points at Syston in a comprehensive performance that put us in the top half of the table. A long way to go, of course, but our confidence continues to grow as we followed up last week's impressive away win with another. Our 3rd away trip in a row beckons against Bromsgrove and that will probably prove the toughest but all signs indicate we'll be ready for the battle.

The Lions saw off Tamworth in a game of two halves where we proved the victor in both. The 1st half was a tight affair where we showed off our ability to play with structure and outplay the opposition. The 2nd half descended into a chaos and our athleticism and individual fire power won out to stretch the points to over 50. The Lions know that the best way to play is the 1st half structure but the 2nd half shooting from the hip definitely pleased the spectators more

The Phoenix (Women's XV) travelled to Old Northamptonians and made it a clean sweep of over 50 points scored for the Street. The game was much closer than the scoreline suggests and was great to see that as the match got tougher we got better. The Phoenix march on undefeated
