MAD ROCK SHOE DEMO 🧗‍♀️👟

Fancy trying something new?

We’re excited to welcome Mad Rock to Colchester Climbing Project on Thursday 10th September for a shoe demo!

Mad Rock have been pushing climbing shoe design for years, with a big focus on performance, durability and affordability — but there’s something particularly interesting about their approach…

👟 Their compression-moulded shoe technology has been developed over nearly two decades, with the aim of creating shoes with less waste, a better fit, higher function and greater durability.

And now you get to try them on the wall for yourself.

Whether you’re already a Mad Rock fan or you’ve never tried a pair before, come down, climb in them and see what you think.

We don’t currently stock Mad Rock shoes at CCP, but we’re keen to see how much interest there is 👀 If you love them, there’s a chance you could see Mad Rock joining our shop range in the future!

Recognise anything? 👀

Another round of lost property has landed at CCP — and there’s some seriously good stuff waiting to be reunited with its owners! 😅

These items were collected between 28th July – 21st August, so if you’ve been climbing with us recently, have a look and see if anything looks familiar.

Water bottles, chalk bags, climbing shoes, clothes and more… someone is definitely missing something! 👀

If you spot something that’s yours, just ask at reception and we’ll help get it back to you 🙌

🗓 We keep all lost property for up to 3 months.
Anything left unclaimed after that will be donated to charity.

So, if you’ve been wondering where that missing bottle, hoodie or chalk bag went… this might be your sign to come and claim it! 🧗‍♀️💙

Megatron Reset 🔄🧗

The Megatron is getting a fresh reset this Monday & Tuesday, 24th & 25th August! 💥

As always, the affected walls will close from 5pm on Sunday 23rd August so our stripping team can get to work and have everything ready for the setters first thing Monday morning. 🛠️

The rest of the gym will remain open and unaffected, so there’ll still be plenty of climbing for you to get stuck into while the Megatron gets its makeover! 🙌

🛠️ THE SUMMER FESTIVAL RESET HAS BEGUN! ☀️🧗

The walls are getting a little makeover ahead of our Summer Climbing Festival this Saturday 15th August!

We’re working hard to get everything ready while keeping disruption to a minimum across the centre. However, as we get stuck into the prep, you may notice that some of your projects have disappeared and parts of the walls are temporarily closed.

We know it can be frustrating when a project you’ve been working on suddenly gets stripped, so thank you for bearing with us while we get everything festival-ready! 🙌

The good news? There are plenty of new things to look forward to this Saturday…

☀️ CCP SUMMER CLIMBING FESTIVAL IS BACK! 🧗

Join us on Saturday 15th August for our annual Summer Climbing Festival at Colchester Climbing Project!

Whether you’re a seasoned climber, brand new to bouldering, an adult, or one of our younger climbers, this is a day for everyone to get involved. Expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, fun climbing challenges, and plenty of opportunities to climb together as a community.

Our team will be around throughout the day to offer encouragement, coaching, and a few surprises along the way!

✨ No competition.
✨ No pressure.
✨ Just a brilliant day of climbing, community, and summer fun.

The festival runs all day, so drop in whenever suits you and stay for as long as you like.

✅ No extra cost to take part—it’s all included with your normal entry or membership.

We genuinely don’t know how… but somehow FOUR climbers have managed to leave the wall without their climbing shoes in the last 3 weeks! 😅👟

If you’ve been climbing with us between 7th July – 27th July, it might be worth checking your gear… because your shoes could be enjoying an extended stay at CCP.

Think any of the items shown are yours? The just pop into reception or drop us a message with a description, and we’ll reunite you. ❤️🧗
