US National Record set on roads of Antrim Coast Half Marathon

Multi Olympic medalist, American Galen Rupp delivered a superb performance at the 2026 Antrim Coast Half Marathon, winning the M40 category in an astonishing time of 1:01:29 and finishing an outstanding 10th overall in a world-class field.

On the beautiful, flat and famously fast Antrim Coast course, the American distance-running legend produced another memorable performance, earning the M40 trophy and prize money. A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Running at 40 Plus, sponsors of the age-category prizes, celebrating and rewarding brilliant masters running.

The joy of crossing the finish line and what an achievement. We love to stay behind at the end of races to welcome home the guys at the back of the pack. There always seems to be big crowds at the end when the winners cross the line but most spectators disperse towards the end leaving guys to cross the line with very little support. This is from last Sundayโ€™s Antrim Coast Half Marathon and Alice Lloyd.
