How will the course run on the day?
we meet at the car park and introduce ourselves. I will make sure everyone has completed payment and consent forms. Then I will give out any equipment needed.
We will then go through he 4 D's of navigation along with other hints and tips. Mainly we will be going from point to point learning different skills as we go. as the route is not set, some points are determined by the group as some groups are happier with more steep terrain than others. Nevertheless the day is not a race. Throughout the day we will pick a suitable location for lunch and when I'm happy with everyone's skill level. I will select a route for everyone to follow back to the café and cars. At this point we will go through any outstanding learning points on the map itself. And Other types of maps will be looked at and discuss.
