A mixed afternoon for the club, with plenty to take from both games.

Saltney Town 4-2 Broughton United 🏆

A superb performance from the First Team to win the local derby in a 6 goal thriller, and book our place in the next round of the FAW Amateur Trophy.

Cup progression and the local bragging rights secured! 🔴⚫

Hawarden Rangers Reserves 5-3 Saltney Town Development

A tough result for the Development Squad, but plenty of positives to take from the performance.

16-year-old Jack Owen put in an outstanding performance on his debut, capped off with a much-deserved goal at just 16 years and 2 days old.

Fellow 16-year-old Jamie Ellison also impressed between the sticks, producing a number of excellent saves, including a penalty save.

A double-header for the club this afternoon, with both sides in action at 2pm.

FAW Amateur Trophy action at the Dragon Steel Stadium as we welcome local rivals Broughton United. A place in the next round is up for grabs, but with local pride on the line, there’s a little more than just cup progression at stake.

Meanwhile, our Development Squad are back in league action as they make the short trip to Gladstone Playing Fields to take on Hawarden Rangers Reserves.

After a dramatic 5-4 defeat at Llangollen last time out, the lads will be looking to bounce back on home soil.

Llangollen Town Reserves 5-4 Saltney Town Development

A tough one to take after a remarkable second-half fightback.

A slow start saw us 3-0 down after just 26 minutes, but the lads showed great character to battle their way back into the game.

We completed the comeback with an equaliser in the 92nd minute, only to suffer heartbreak five minutes later as Llangollen grabbed the winner in the 97th.

Plenty of character and fight shown to come back from three goals down, but unfortunately nothing to show for it at the final whistle.

After a brilliant 4-0 win to open the season in midweek, the lads will be looking to build on that performance and continue the positive start to the new campaign.

Defeat in our opening league game of the season, with a 10th-minute goal proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Not the start to the league campaign we wanted, but we regroup and go again.
