FYD NATIONALS 2026 ♥️🖤💜
Sometimes you win. Sometimes you learn.
This weekend wasn’t quite the Nationals we had imagined in terms of results, but different does not mean unsuccessful.
We came home being 1 of the 3 top studios and with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, Honourable Mentions and High Honourable Mentions. In most sections there were 25+ dancers, so a High Honourable meant placing 4th, 5th or 6th in a huge field — an amazing achievement.
Some of our dancers also stepped up into the next age category and still placed beautifully against older, incredibly competitive dancers. Our newer team members, only a few months into training with us, stood on a Nationals stage and looked completely at home.
But the biggest success of the weekend had nothing to do with medals.
It was the team.
The support. The laughter. The hugs. The parents helping every child, not just their own. The children lifting each other up. The way they stayed together through excitement, disappointment, nerves, tiredness and even an 80mph storm 😂
That matters more than a trophy.
Of course we will reflect, learn and improve. That is training. That is competing.
And one thing I will say very clearly:
These are children.
Whatever school they represent, whatever result they receive, they deserve to be applauded and treated with respect.
Booing, mocking, making comments within earshot of children, or adults gossiping about children, families or other schools has no place in dance.
You do not have to support every school or agree with every result, but you should be able to recognise when children have worked hard and achieved something they are proud of.
We will always teach our dancers to clap for others, support others and behave with kindness whether they win or lose.
To our team — one weekend does not define you.
Take the lessons. Keep the memories. Keep the friendships.
We smile.
We reset.
We learn.
We keep going.
So proud of every single one of you. ♥️🖤💜
