Former Blueboy ran a staggering 100 kilometres at the South East Coast Ultra Challenge yesterday.

Starting in Eastbourne and finishing in Arundel, Jamie competed the course in 12 hours and 45 minutes achieving an amazing eighth place!

Dad Gordon Ash and granddad Colin Ash were both extremely proud comparing the run to a tough preseason training session back in the day!

Big news coming out of Chelmsford Rugby Club! Following an incredible run as last season’s Merit League runners-up, our 2nd team have all voted to become the Chelmsford Crusaders.

As we step up into Counties 2 for the very first time—facing off against 1st teams from right across Essex—we need an edge to make sure we aren’t just competing, but challenging right at the top of the league.
That’s why we are thrilled to announce our official partnership with Ab Salute Gyms! 🤝💪

Strength, power, and conditioning are going to be everything this season. Having a top-tier facility like Ab Salute Gyms backing the Crusaders gives our squad the elite training support required to go toe-to-toe with 1st XV opposition week in, week out.

With the start of the league season postponed it’s time to get the ‘Lunches and Buffets’ lined up for the 2026/27 season.

Come and enjoy some great hospitality with 6 lunches and 6 buffets to attend between September 2027 and April 2027.

The first lunch is in memory of our wonderful former President Peter Jordan when the 1st XV entertain Rochford on 3rd October 2026.

Pre match fun, food and frolics, a visit to the touchline to cheer on the Blueboys and post match analysis with b**r in hand is an ideal way to spend your Saturday!

As a result of the RFU’s announcement on Friday the 1st XV’s fixtures in September, October and November now look as above 👆.

The 1st XV will kick off the league season on 26th September with a trip to Norfolk and Wymondham RFC.

The Woodford game away and the Braintree home fixture have been rescheduled for 10th October and 28th November respectively.

The 2nd XV are at home to Canvey and the 3rd XV are away to Kings Cross Steelers.

Luncheon and buffet dates will be out soon.

Following the RFU’s announcement on Friday we can now confirm league games for 1st XV, 2nd XV, and 3rd XV will take place on Saturday 26th September 2026.

1st XV v Wymondham (A)
2nd XV v Canvey Island (H)
3rd XV v Kings Cross Steelers ll (A)

The 1st XV fixture’s that were due to take place on 12th and 19th September against Woodford and Braintree will be rescheduled for 10th October and 28th November respectively.

We are working through what is best for all players and trainers with regard to preseason friendlies. Watch this space for more details.

The 1st XV kick off their league season on 12th September away at Woodford.

The 2nd XV start two weeks later at home to Canvey Island and the 3rd XV also start their campaign in Essex Merit Table Division 3 away at Kings Cross Steelers.

Hard to believe but it’s true. We need some rain 🌧️!!

Chelmsford Rugby Football Club would like to inform all associated with the club of Peter Jordan’s funeral arrangements.

The funeral will take place at Chelmsford Crematorium on Thursday 13th August starting at 2.30 pm.

After the service all are invited to the clubhouse at Coronation Park to share our memories of Peter in a location so dear to him.

We are excited to announce our first pre season ‘Triple Header’ versus Ipswich Rugby .

Having played Ipswich over the last few seasons at this time of year, the 1st XV, Ladies XV and Colts XV will all be travelling to Suffolk to get ready for September league fixtures.

The Colts XV game will be the ‘curtain raiser’ for the 1st XV game at 3.00 pm and the Ladies will kick off at 2.00 pm.

Come and support the club at Humber Douchy Lane, IP4 3PZ.

Week 4 of pre-season has started. Balmy evenings in the heat.

Congratulations to our wonderful U10s who were involved in the Race for Life last weekend.

The Chelmsford Race for Life took place on Sunday, July 19, 2026. The event featured a variety of distances, including a 3k and 5k, a chip-timed 10k, and a 5k “Pretty Muddy” obstacle course.

The local events were organised by Cancer Research UK to raise vital funds for life-saving cancer and the U10s raised a whopping £1,700!

Well done to all involved including Marcus Bloomberg and Karthik Vilwanathan our wonderful coaches.
