Last year, I had the absolute privilege of introducing over 300 pupils at Moulsham Infant School to the Core Values of Rugby. I was thrilled to be invited back this week for their Health & Fitness Week to keep that momentum going and the energy was incredible!

Representing Chelmsford Rugby Club, it was fantastic to revisit the TREDS framework with the children. When you teach these core values, you aren’t just teaching kids how to play a game, you are equipping them with a toolkit for life.
🏉 Teamwork – Lifting each other up and learning how to truly collaborate.
🏉 Respect – For everyone on and off the pitch.
🏉 Enjoyment – Growing confidence and character through having fun.
🏉 Discipline – Learning to regulate emotions and make smart decisions under pressure.
🏉 Sportsmanship – Treating others with fairness and integrity, whether winning or losing.

Seeing the children actively embrace these concepts again this year is a powerful reminder of exactly why grassroots sports and community involvement are so vital.

A massive thank you to the brilliant staff and pupils at Moulsham for the warm welcome back. It’s an honour to help shape not just better athletes, but fantastic young people! 👏

Thank you Peter. Good luck James.
