🏏 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE ADULT SEASON! 🏏

Saturday 29th August, we came together for our Adult Awards Night to celebrate what has been another brilliant season for Springfield Cricket Club.

The 1st XI finished 5th in the Hamro League after playing Goresbrook last week end to finally round up the weekend! 💚

🏆 1ST XI PLAYER OF THE YEAR - CALLUM EVA

13 innings | 250 runs | 14 wickets

A superb season from Callum, who has been a huge contributor with both bat and ball.

🏆 2ND XI PLAYER OF THE YEAR - PRADISH PHILIP

11 innings | 321 runs | 22 wickets

The 2nd XI secured 2nd place in the T-Rippon Premier Division, narrowly missing out on becoming champions. Pradish has been outstanding throughout the season and thoroughly deserves the award.

🏆 3RD XI PLAYER OF THE YEAR - JOSH VINCE

12 innings | 376 runs | 16 wickets

It’s been a tough season for the 3rd XI, with relegation to Division 4 confirmed after the weather prevented their final opportunity to secure their position. But Josh has been exceptional throughout, and we have every faith the 3rd XI will come back stronger next year!

🏆 4TH XI PLAYER OF THE YEAR - NILESH BHOOTRA

11 innings | 153 runs | 18 wickets

After a rocky start, the 4th XI pulled things together and finished 8th in Division 6. Nilesh stepped up halfway through the season to take on the captaincy and was unanimously chosen as their Player of the Year.

🏆 5TH XI PLAYER OF THE YEAR - BILLY ROBERTS

11 innings | 277 runs

In their first season in Division 12, the 5th XI - made up largely of our young Colts and older boys - did brilliantly to secure 5th place. Billy had a fantastic first senior season and is certainly one to watch for the future!

🏆 T20 XI PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ABHI MURUGESH

5 innings | 118 runs

The T20 XI enjoyed a great run through to Finals Day, unfortunately falling at the semi-final stage against Wivenhoe Town. Abhi was a key part of the side and fully deserved the award.

🏆 WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR - LAURA HITCHEN

8 innings | 110 runs | 1 wicket

A season of highs and lows for the Women’s team as they took on the challenge of the new hardball Elev8 League. Laura stood out with the bat, ball and in the field throughout the season.

🏆 BOWLER OF THE YEAR - LEE BROOKS

23 games | 36 wickets | 184.2 overs

Someone who gives absolutely everything every time he steps onto the pitch. Another outstanding season from Lee - and we’ve definitely lost count of how many times he’s picked up this award! 😂

🏆 BATSMAN OF THE YEAR - JAMIE CASSON

26 innings | 633 runs

After just missing out on this award last year, Jamie went one better this time around. An incredible season with the bat and a thoroughly deserved winner.

🏆 ALL-ROUNDER OF THE YEAR - CHARLIE PRUDENCE

18 innings | 234 runs | 5 wickets

A player who has pushed every physical boundary this season - often limping his way through to the following Friday! 😂 A huge amount of effort and commitment all season long.

🏆 PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR - CALLUM EVA

61 off 29 balls | 4 fours | 4 sixes

Quite simply, this one was never really in doubt! An unbelievable innings and a performance that deserves to be remembered.

🏆 YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR - RISHI SANKARARAMAN

15 innings | 382 runs | 32 wickets

And finally...

🏆 CRICKETER OF THE YEAR - RISHI SANKARARAMAN

The votes were counted and, perhaps fittingly, our Young Player of the Year and Cricketer of the Year turned out to be the same person!

Rishi has had an incredible season in Springfield senior cricket, making a huge impact with both bat and ball. A brilliant achievement and thoroughly deserved. 👏

There were so many brilliant individual performances throughout the season that we also wanted to recognise some of the standout efforts.

But while we celebrate all of these individual awards and performances, the biggest thank you has to go to EVERYONE who has pulled on a Springfield shirt this season.

To every player who turned up, played, trained, captained, scored runs, took wickets, chased every ball, supported their teammates and gave their all - thank you. 💚

There have been highs, lows, wins, losses, brilliant performances and plenty of memories along the way.

That’s what makes Springfield Cricket Club what it is.

💚💛 WEEKEND RESULTS 💛💚

And just like that, the 2026 season is coming to an end! 🏏

It was the final weekend for the majority of our teams, although unfortunately the weather had other ideas on Saturday. With the rain putting paid to most of the fixtures, only our 2nd XI were able to get out and play.

🏏 2nd XI - WIN
A fantastic 5-run victory over South Loughton in the T-Rippon Mid Essex League Premier Division!

Springfield posted 149-8, with S Thakur leading the way with 69 runs and F Baker adding 43. The bowlers then held their nerve to defend the total, with N Bhootra, H Mileman and S Brown all taking two wickets.

A brilliant team performance - and fittingly, the whole team were named Players of the Match! 👏

Sunday brought much better news, with our U13s and U19s both finishing their seasons with wins.

🏏 U13s - WIN
A great 4-wicket victory over Billericay!

After restricting Billericay to 123-7, Springfield chased it down with 125-6. Edson Lindo top scored with an unbeaten 37* and was named Player of the Match. 👏

🏆 U19s - TWO WINS!
What a way to finish the season for our U19s!

They first secured a 4-wicket win over Woodford Wells, with Aayush Salil scoring an unbeaten 33* and putting in a superb performance.

Then came the final... and another Springfield victory!

A 3-wicket win over Ilford saw the U19s lift the trophy after chasing down 129. Stanley Spall & Arnav Lanka were named Players of the Match for the final. 🏆👏

A frustrating start to the weekend with the weather, but a brilliant finish to the season with three wins across the teams that were able to play.

A huge well done to everyone who has represented Springfield this season - players, coaches, volunteers, scorers, parents and supporters. 💚💛

💚 WHAT A DAY. WHAT A FINISH. 💚🏏🏆

After a complete washout of a day yesterday, where only our 2nd XI managed to get a game in, today certainly made up for it!

What an absolute thriller of a day over at Southend-On-Sea, with our U19s taking on Woodford Wells in the semi-final.

🏏 SEMI-FINAL
Springfield U19s 131-7
Woodford Wells 129-7

💚 Springfield won by 3 wickets

Aayush Salil was named Player of the Match after a crucial 33* and a superb spell with the ball. A fantastic team performance saw the boys through to the final against Ilford CC!

And then came the FINAL... 😱

The boys decided they wanted to take it to the next level, leaving all of the supporters on the edge of their seats right until the final ball!

Ilford batted superbly and looked to be putting a big score on the board, until Arnie decided he'd had quite enough! 😂🔥

🎯 Arnav Lanka - 5-7 (3 overs)

His first ever 5-fer for Springfield - and what a time to do it! 👏💚

Ilford were bowled out for 106, leaving Springfield needing 107 for the title.

We started off well with the bat, moving along nicely before, in typical Springfield fashion, we decided a little collapse was needed! 😂

At the end it was Henry & Stan at the crease, running themselves ragged and keeping us in the game right until the very end.

With 3 to win or 2 needed from the final ball to force a Super Over, Stan decided to go one better...

Our U19s have made it through to the final of the Ravi Bopara Finals Day after a fantastic 4-wicket win against Woodford Wells! 💪🏏

They’ve now got one more game to go, with Ilford CC waiting in the final as they battle it out for the title! 🏆

After a complete washout yesterday, with only our 2nd XI managing to get a game in, we’re back at it this morning with TWO big semi-finals! 🏏

🏆 T20 XI
Our T20 XI are heading to Halstead for the NECL T20 Finals Day, where they’ll play Wivenhoe first up!

🏆 U19s
Our U19s are off to Garons Park for the Ravi Bopara Finals Day, where they’ll take on Woodford Wells!

Two big games, two big days and we’re all behind you! 💚

And just like that... it’s the final game of the season! 🏏💚

Unfortunately, the weather has got the better of us and the 4th & 5th XI games have been called off due to the rain. ☔

But we’re still hoping to get the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI games played!

1st XI are at home to Bentley CC
2nd XI are away to South Loughton CC
3rd XI are away to Great Wakering CC

Fingers crossed the rain stays away long enough for these games to go ahead! 🤞☀️

Once the cricket is finished, it’s time to get ready for our Senior Awards Night as we celebrate the season and all the brilliant performances from across our senior sides.

And of course, we’ll have food after the games courtesy of Sarvo & Troy - the perfect way to round off the season! 🍛

Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast and the potential for a washout, we’ve had to postpone our Colts Award Evening planned for Friday 28th August.

But don’t worry - we’ve already got a new date in the diary! 🎉

Saturday cricket at Springfield CC 💚

A mixed set of results across the senior sides, with some brilliant individual performances to celebrate.

🏏 1st XI - A great 6-wicket win against Westcliff-On-Sea, with Jamie Casson named Player of the Match after a superb 89*.

🏏 2nd XI - A strong 63-run victory against Ingatestone & Fryerning. Jim Symonds and Pradish Philip shared Player of the Match honours after excellent innings of 98 and 57 respectively.

🏏 3rd XI - A 53-run defeat against Basildon & Pitsea, with Matt Chalk named Player of the Match after an impressive 89*.

🏏 4th XI - A tough afternoon as they went down by 200 runs against Theydon Bois.

🏏 5th XI - A very close 2-wicket defeat against Rayleigh. A special mention to Dan Whitley, who was named Player of the Match after scoring his first ever 50 for Springfield! 💚👏

Well done to everyone who played, supported and represented the club this weekend. 💚
