A five hour round trip didn't put our Masters Women off heading to Lowestoft for a spot of beach sprints practice. Slightly rougher than the River Lea, but definitely a bit warmer. Not often you see .ball.3194 in a boat, but that competitive spirit still runs deep. Also joined by Rob Mayes and

Recs go racing:
Two eager crews set off to Staines Regatta this weekend and put on some gritty performances. Upham crew won their first heat the were beaten in a closeish race to eventual winners Molesy. Chevasse crew got a bye and had a close race with Phyllis Court coached by their secret weapon Noelle Stallard. However both cews thoroughly enjoyed their taste of racing

Mike you are an inspiration. You are everything an athlete should be and more. You train hard, show amazing commitment to your rowing and to our club. Helping with learn to row, elected as squad captain by your peers, looking out for your peers and supporting them, leaving your stuff everywhere and even cleaning the Captain's car. Today we have a special announcement so listen up!. Mike Janeway took off to the Docks today with coach Katie Ball to compete in the England trials for the Home International Regatta and he came home victorious🙌🙌

Beating competition from some of the biggest school rowing programmes isn't easy, but Mike made smart work of it coming in with a time close to the winners in open and U23.

He goes on to represent England on 26 July at Dorney. If you're at a loose end please go and cheer him on.

This really is testament to the hard work and discipline Mike brings to his sculling. This is an achievement not many BRX juniors or seniors have made so he will have a very well earned spot in our hall of fame!
