COVID- 19 POLICY
NEW IMPORTANT SITE INFORMATION
If you or any other member of your family have or suspect you have COVID 19
symptoms, YOU MUST NOT VISIT THE SCHOOL /SAILING CLUB. Please stay at
home and follow government regulations for self-isolation.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
MUST be maintained at all times in line with the government’s regulations.
This may mean that we may not be able to help you launch and land in the usual
ways and this includes towing and recovery back to shore except in an emergency
situation. We will also be limited to fewer people on-site so booking for hire and
courses is essential. Please do not just turn up without pre-booking in advance.
ENTRY TO SITE
The gates are now locked so entry is now via the small gate by the patio area /BBQ
for Non Members to participate in Windsurfing activities. This gate will also be kept
locked so please wait there and call Martin on 07944 589 679 and we will let you in
On entry please use the hand sanitizer provided and we will direct you to our briefing
area.You must read these instructions and sign our booking form before
participating in any windsurfing activity.
HIRING EQUIPMENT
You must book in advance by calling Martin on 07944 589 679 to hire equipment.
You must arrive either between 9am and 10am or between 1pm and 2pm, you may
stay as long as you like but you must arrive between these times. Please bring your
own wetsuit and wet boots/wet shoes or old trainers as we cannot reuse wetsuits
without thorough cleaning off-site. If you cannot get hold of your own wetsuit, you
may still use a school suit but there will be a small additional cleaning charge.
COURSES
You must book to attend one of our courses or sessions. Please arrive at the stated
time and wait by the small gate near the patio/bbq area to be collected or call martin
on 07944 589 679
Please bring your own wetsuits shoes or boots/old trainers to wear in the water as
we cannot share equipment at present. If you cannot get hold of a wetsuit you may
be able to use one of the school suits but this then means it cannot be reused
without thorough cleaning offsite so there will be a small additional cleaning charge
for school suits.
CHANGING ROOMS AND SHOWERS
In line with government restrictions, the changing rooms and showers are closed at
present and cannot be used so please come prepared or to change outside by use
of a changing robe or large towel or within your vehicle.
TOILETS
We will be using the disabled toilet adjacent to the main gate on the side of the
clubhouse for the time being. You must use hand sanitizer, gloves and a mask for
entry (provided). Upon exit of the toilet, please remove and dispose of your gloves
and mask and then sanitize your hands.
REFRESHMENTS AND DRINKS
The club house is currently shut so there are no refreshments or food available at
present on site. Please bring along your own for the day.
OTHER MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
At present, we cannot allow additional people or spectators into the sailing club
compound.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
There are now wind limits on beginner and intermediate sailors hiring to avoid
unnecessary towing and recovery. The instructor will let you know if it is unsuitable
upon arrival, as often conditions can fluctuate throughout the day.
