I heard the sad news yesterday that Ski Sunday has come to an end.

For GB winter sports, which already fight for mainstream exposure, it feels like a real loss.

It was a programme my dad especially loved. He’d tell me about alpine ski racers he watched as a child, names I’d never even heard of. But that’s exactly what Ski Sunday did so well. It made people care.

You didn’t have to ski, or even understand the sport, to get caught up in the stories. Just look at the incredible Eddie the Eagle. It’s the personalities, journeys and human stories behind sport that make people emotionally invested and want to watch.

It feels particularly sad at a time when we have such an exciting generation of British winter athletes coming through towards the 2030 Winter Olympics. Across so many disciplines, athletes are working towards the very top while still fighting for funding, sponsorship and exposure.

I’ve said for the last two years that winter sports don’t lack interest, they lack exposure. People can’t fall in love with a sport or support its athletes if they never get the chance to see it.

That’s why I’ve self-funded Fall-Liners for the past two years, following British alpine ski racers Molly Butler and Zak Carrick-Smith and showing the reality behind the results: the training, travel, sacrifices and everything people don’t normally get to see.

With fewer places to share these journeys, telling their stories feels more important than ever.

A massive well done and thank you to everyone behind Ski Sunday. What a programme and what a legacy.

It will be hugely missed 💓

Episode 2 in New Zealand is a good one...

After battling wind and soft snow, we've finally made it onto the ICE. The coaches spent 5 hours watering the slope until 9pm to get it ready, and let's just say it was worth it.

We also answer the question of why we've somehow ended up bringing 20+ pairs of skis all the way to New Zealand, and take a look at Zak's new setup.

Check it out here: Skiing on ICE in New Zealand?!
