Bognor Regis Town Women are through to the next round of the FA Cup after a brilliant 3–1 victory over Jersey Bulls! ⚽️

We couldn’t be prouder of this team. The players, coaching team, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes have put so much into getting us here, and Sundays like this make it all worthwhile.

RECORD-BREAKING ROCKS! ⚪️🟢

The record-breaking Bognor U16 Girls team bowed out with an exhibition game and their final presentation at Nyewood Lane.

The team were formed as U9s in 2018, and in their five seasons of competitive football from U12s won five successive Sussex Premier League titles and appeared in six Cup Finals, winning two.

The longevity and togetherness of the team was highlighted by the fact that four players at the final match had been with the club since the beginning — and eight had been together for seven years.

The final squad amassed over 2000 appearances for the club between them in all matches and were just short of 1000 total goals. Over the five league winning seasons the team’s record was played 74, won 66 drew 2, lost 6.

The final end of season awards went to Ava W as Players’ Player, Issy C as Parents’ Player and Julia N as Manager’s Player, with Izzy E the season’s top scorer. Manager Matt Swanson was also awarded Lifetime Membership of the Sussex County League for outstanding voluntary service on the League Committee.

We wish all the girls the best of luck with their continued footballing journey beyond the Bognor youth set up, with three now joining the women’s team at Bognor, along with keeper coach Rodrigo Castanheira, and four have joined the newly formed Chichester City.

Elsewhere players are now representing Worthing and Fareham U18 and Portsmouth U16s. Coaches Matt and Tom English thanked the team’s entourage for their support over the years, and particularly Mike and Carol Taylor-Brett, and Andy Weir and Steve Lawson for their help over the years in providing the fantastic platform for the girls section of Bognor youth.
