Team Immersion is a group of roboteers from North East England who compete internationally in robot fighting tournaments.

We are currently the King of Bots UK champions, 3x Sportsman 2019 champions, and also design robots for other teams under commission!

The last week has been an intense adventure, building a Saiko!/Pramheda inspired vertical spinner within 3 days to compete in the UK 12lb/Hobbyweight Championship over the weekend… and finishing in 2nd place after some brutal fights!

Already being different from the usual front hinge flippers ran by Adam, Anima also goes back to our roots with most of the structure being lasercut aluminium and wear plate. And it’s also our first fully am32 driven machine, using escs from Ranglebox - Team Pulsar and Aria, and mostly 3D printed drive reduction and armour!
Seeing it go from a CAD to something capable of beating the legend, Semtex in the roughest battle ever is an absolutely surreal feeling!

A huge shout out to Team SC Combat Robotics, Gibson Welding, Andy Davies, Arran Trouse and Ed Hodges for helping with all the last minute essentials that made the robot actually work! And a massive thanks to Jack Kelly, JP Mac Fhionnlaoich and Calum for being awesome on the spot team mates!

Hats off to the team at Chichester Uni for holding such an awesome championship!

And thank you to everyone for calling it the best looking hobbyweight! It means a lot considering it was such a rush job!

We’re already looking at refinements and changes to help Anima go that one step further and can’t wait to share them with you all!

(And yes the name also originates from a Pendulum album just like Immersion!)

Sadly, Isaac didn't want to take over the Panic Attack mantle, but our new heavyweight has the next best paintscheme, meet Monument! (Weird name I know)

Monument is 110kg 22mph heavyweight robot, built for the UK live circuit using spares we've had laying around from previous projects, no welding (aside from the wheelguards) and a lot of 3D printing, with most of the internals and the wheels being printed TPU!

No weapon at the moment but the plan is still for it to have Panic Attack style lifting forks, but fast and with 210 degrees of rotation, allowing them to work upside down! (So kinda BattleBots Yeti-ish?)

Monument's next event will be Robots Live / Mech Mania Stoke-on-Trent, look out for it there!

Our flipper kit, IE-FH1 is our poorly kept secret, quickly becoming the 2024 Scottish Grand Finalist in it's debut as 'Prototype', this kit has been tried and tested in combat by our awesome friends at Team RcRobotics. 🏆

⚙️ Our first project of the year was a collab with Team Roaming Robots on Ripper 8! ⚙️

An upgrade from the previous design which ran out of gas a bit quicker than desired! This new version was started by the team by building up a new pneumatic system and a more traditional 2wd base profile and flipper, reusing some of the pneumatics and drive from Ripper 7 and the BattleBots version. The bodywork was then designed by us, maintaining the traditional profile whilst adding a unique aesthetic flare!

We had an amazing time in Dublin, competing for the Irish title at RoboRiots!

Immersion became the heavyweight champ for a third time running! 🏆
And as a bonus, our friends at Caley Creations won the featherweight title with Renegade! 🏆

A huge thank you to our robot family, Team RcRobotics and Team Regicide - Combat Robots for helping us get both bots to the top! A massive shout out to Team Roaming Robots for coming 2nd, and keeping us on our toes as always and to RoboRiots for hosting an awesome event once again!

Throwback Thursday⏰

⚙️ This is the first in arena test of 'Abrasion', built for BattleBots Season 5 in 2020 (running the weapon on half voltage).
At this point Covid hit and filming was postponed and ultimately due to restrictions, UK teams could not travel. 😢

Abrasion now sits on display whilst it's siblings, Ember and Immersion take part in events around Europe. We may not be applying again any time soon, but make sure you check out our latest BattleBots design, Magnitude - BattleBots!💪
