We have our pre-season meeting on Sunday 12th April 10:30am at the bowls club. If you are thinking about playing bowls this is a good time to come up the club, have a look round, meet people and find out more before the outdoor bowls season starts late April. We are a friendly club with a beautiful green and great facilities. Ask for John Kittles or Len Bickerstaff.

We are located by taking the unmade roadway between nos. 94 and 104 Church Street, about half way down the hill on Church Street, Bocking. (see picture showing entrance).

Cheque Presentation to Braintree Youth Project Charity

Following another successful Chilli and Curry lunch the bowls club had the great pleasure in presenting a cheque for £1402 to Braintree Youth Project Charity, our chosen charity over the past two bowls seasons. Thank you to Bocking Alliance Bowls Club members, their friends and family for their support and generosity fund raising. Graham Goodchild fundraiser from the charity and fellow bowls club member said the money raised will be used to fund a trip to Bradwell Outdoor Pursuits Centre.

Braintree Youth Project Charity's (BYPC) focus is to provide somewhere for young people to meet up and socialise that doesn’t cost them anything, and to be a safe space for them to grow and develop.

For more information about the charity and the good work they do please visit their website https://www.braintreeyouth.org.uk/ and their page https://www.facebook.com/BraintreeYouthProjectCharity

Bocking do the Double in The Sudbury League. Winning both the Double Fours and the Millennium Cup. This is the first time this has ever been done, a great achievement. Well done guys.

Pictured the jubilant Double Fours team who defeated Colchester West End by 2 shots this morning at Bocking in front of a large crowd. Thank you for your support. It was a thrilling match. Bocking held a good lead but West End battled back and the game went down to the last wood of the match.
