💚 OUR OPPONENTS 💚

Sunday 17th May 2026 our over 45s take to the field to play against Bocking Vets .
Here’s a little bit about their wonderful club 💚💚💚💚

After a number of years playing under different names in 2020 Bocking Vets was started and based in their spiritual home at Bocking! Starting with just a few over 45’s we went on a recruitment drive to grow and get a regular squad out. Recruitment went so well we started a Bocking 45’s reserve team in 2021/2 season and both sides held their own in respective divisions. As numbers grew, and players got older we started an over 55’s team in 2024/5 and kept adding to the 45’s squads as well. In the 2025/6 season the 45’s first team have won the league comfortably and are in the running for 2 cups as they are in the finals. As we now start to build for the 2026/7 season we are delighted to be adding in an extra over 55’s side so we will have 4 sides playing competitively in the Essex Veterans League. We’ve always been a social team and believe in providing hospitality in the right way as well as playing the game in the right way. We have recently spread the Bocking name internationally (Spain) by entering a tournament and will continue to do so in the future. We are a very community minded club who will happily play pre-season games to raise money for good causes and be able to give back to the community around us.

As a club we are pleased to be able to provide the opportunity for those aged over 45 to carry on playing the game they love for many more years to come.

Tonight we play in our 1st Cup final this season. As current holders of the Tiptree Charity Cup we have our title to defend against a very good Tiptree Heath Reserves side, through the season the honours are even so it’s a tough one to call. The lads won’t want to give this up easily and will battle hard right to the end with the aim of retaining the trophy. Playing the final at Stanway Rovers FC with a 7.30pm KO! Let’s get as many along to support (all gate receipts go to charity as well as some more fundraising happening on the night).

Our over 45s team will take on Bocking Vets Fc in an all star charity match at Colchester United FC .

2pm kick off

Raising money for Wish for Winnie and The Sick Children's Trust

We are urging people to come down and support these two wonderful causes .

Rumour has it we may see a couple of Colchester United legends in our side .

We have 2 home games this Saturday 18th April. The over 45’s first team host Upminster 45’s in the Division 1 Cup Semi-Final. Can the lads make it to 2 cup finals this season?? It’ll be a tough game for sure and with a full strength side they have a great chance to progress!! We also have the 55’s hosting Debden in their final home game of the season. Bagging another much needed 3pts will keep the pressure on the teams above as we head towards the seasons end! Come along to Bocking Sports Ground CM7 5JY and cheers the lads on! A tough game with some great football from both sides today. Played in the right spirit. Hats off to Chelmer who tested the 1st team today, having to battle back from 2-1 down. We now await the final against a strong Tiptree Heath side with our aim of retaining the Tiptree Charity Cup Essex Veterans League Essex County FA
