A huge thank you to Hanley Under 9 Girls for hosting a fantastic girls’ mini tournament today. Every single Diamond enjoyed their playing time and represented the team brilliantly.

A massive congratulations to AFC Biddulph Vixens on winning the trophy — a well-deserved achievement! 🏆

A special shout-out also goes to Hanley town goalkeeper Izzy, who thoroughly deserved the Sportsmanship Award. She never let her head drop, gave 100% throughout, and showed a fantastic attitude from start to finish. Well done, Izzy! 👏⚽

As for our Diamonds, there were some great performances, some excellent passages of football, and some brilliant team goals. You should all be proud of yourselves and the progress you’ve made.

Now it’s time to enjoy your break, recharge, and have some fun. We’ll see you all again in a few weeks — you’ve earned it! 💎💎💎⚽💙

AFC Biddulph Diamonds vs Blythe Bridge

In their final game, the girls started brilliantly, working together as a team and creating chances, but unfortunately couldn’t find the back of the net.

In the second quarter, Blythe Bridge capitalised on two through balls, and there was little Floss could do to prevent either goal.

The third quarter saw a determined response from the Diamonds. Kiara and Lyla stood strong at the back to keep the Blythe attack at bay, while Chesca and Annabelle produced some excellent bursting runs down the wings. Millie battled hard in midfield, and Ava and Isla were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet up front.

Today just wasn’t meant to click for us. The Blythe Bridge goalkeeper had an outstanding game, and their defence worked tirelessly to keep us out.

A well-earned rest now for the girls—you’ve all deserved it after a fantastic season. Keep your heads high and be proud of your efforts. 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎

PPOTM – CHESCA 💎

A well-deserved Players' Player of the Match for Chesca today.

Chesca was determined from start to finish and didn't let anyone stop her from winning her battles all over the pitch. She gave absolutely everything for the team, showing great effort, strength and commitment throughout the game.

She was a constant threat going forward and, on another day, could easily have had a few goals to her name. It took some excellent saves from the opposition goalkeeper to keep her out.

A fantastic performance and fully deserved recognition from her teammates. Well done, Chesca! 💎👏⚽

CPOTM – LYLA 💎

A deserved Coaches’ Player of the Match for Lyla today.

She never stopped driving her team forward, chasing every ball, showing great determination and energy from the first whistle to the last. Lyla was always looking to make things happen, taking shots from everywhere and constantly asking questions of the opposition defence.

Unlucky not to get a goal or two for all her efforts, but her commitment, work rate and positive attitude were outstanding throughout.

Match Day Report 💎

AFC Biddulph Diamonds vs AFC Biddulph Vixens 🤝⚽

This was a new experience for both teams as they stepped up to 7-a-side football and welcomed some new faces into the squads.

Both teams started well, battling hard in the middle of the pitch. With more space to use, the girls used it wisely and created some great moves going forward.

Kiara, Betty and Lyla defended brilliantly at the back, stopping the Vixens’ attacks, while Floss pulled off some fantastic saves.

In the 3rd and 4th quarters, Annabelle, Chesca, Isla and Ava all worked hard to break through the Vixens’ well-organised defence and were unlucky with a few through balls. Kaytlin made some strong tackles in midfield, but the Vixens kept pressing forward and scored some excellent team goals.

Kiara, Betty and Floss were kept busy towards the end but stayed strong throughout.

This was a new chapter for the girls, and even the new players who joined gave it their all. This is only the start 💙

This award went to all the girls for their very first 7-a-side game ⚽👏

The girls played some fantastic football, worked hard as a team and adapted really well to the bigger pitch. Every parent was cheering and encouraging you all on from the sidelines, and you should all be proud of yourselves.

Keep it up girls — this is only the beginning and the only way is up 💙💎
