Alex Carter is a life-long martial artist, a karate, kobudo and qigong teacher based in the UK with 25 years’ professional experience – a 4th dan Black Belt in Karate and kobudo and former English Champion. Inspired by the masters she learnt from, she has travelled the world over 3 decades from Taiwan to Okinawa to study with the most talented masters of Karate, Kobudo, Qigong, Kung Fu and Tai Chi

. The term ‘Sensei’ literally means “someone who has been there before” – Alex really has. She has collated her favourite elements from each discipline to produce genuinely energising classes. Each session builds a new layer of skill, meaning your effort always comes with reward.

🌊 Your favourite class — now a full workshop of movement, nourishment, and collective joy 🌈

If you already love how uplifted and energised you feel after class… imagine stretching that feeling across a whole day.

We’ll begin with our usual qigong flow — effortless, energising, moving with breath and music. The kind of movement that genuinely gives you energy.....

Then… we nourish.

A vibrant, colourful brunch with Rainbow Kitchen magic — fresh salads, bold flavours, and the chance to create your own signature “cocktail dressing.” You’ll also pick up simple, practical ideas inspired by Tsukurioki - a Japanese concept, to make healthy eating easy during the week.

After that, we slow things down…
Gentle, easy ideogram calligraphy on water scrolls.
A sensory chocolate meditation.

And finally, we come back together to consolidate and integrate it all with a closing and energising qigong flow - leaving you grounded, uplifted, and fully alive.

This is more than a class.
It’s a chance to enjoy every moment — movement, breath, taste, connection.

Quick question… when was the last time you stood on one leg? 😊
It might seem like a small thing, but balance becomes increasingly important as we get older — and recent research keeps reinforcing this.
A key part of balance is proprioception.
This is your body’s internal sense of where you are in space, without needing to look.
Good proprioception helps you:
• Know where your feet are
• Adjust on uneven ground
• React quickly if you slip or trip
That speed of response is one of the most important factors in fall prevention.
The good news? Proprioception can be trained — at any age.
Just a few minutes of balance practice each day can support:

✨ Healthier joints and easier mobility
✨ A more responsive nervous system

In a world that moves fast and asks a lot of us, it’s easy to forget the simplest medicine we already have: movement, time outdoors, and self-care.
Our bodies weren’t designed to stay still or disconnected from nature. Gentle, intentional movement supports circulation, releases tension, and helps calm the nervous system. Being outside — fresh air, natural light, space to breathe — reinforces that sense of balance and ease.
