We’ve had lots of new dancers joining us for September and some of our classes have grown, so we’ve made a few changes to our timetable too, giving us more options, better levelled classes and more room to progress. 🖤

BACK TO DANCE! 🖤🙌

Well… we’ve nearly made it through the summer holidays parents 😂🙌

And that means it’s almost time to get the dance bags back out because BDC is back THIS MONDAY! 🔥

I’m definitely ready to have the studios full again and I can’t wait to see everyone back dancing, as well as welcome all the lovely new faces joining us this September. ❤️

So this weekend’s job… find the dance bag, check the trainers still fit 🙈 and work out where you put all the BDC gear six weeks ago! 😂

Hear me out on this one… ❤️

We hear words like welcoming, inclusive, supportive, confidence and belonging a lot when we talk about children’s activities and I completely agree with all of them.

They matter. MASSIVELY .

However, I’ve been thinking about this lately and personally, I don’t think those things should be what makes a children’s activity stand out.

I think they should be the starting point.

As a parent myself, I’d expect my child to be welcomed, included, safe and supported wherever I chose to send them.

So for me, the question is… what do we offer beyond that?

At BDC, I want dancers to progress. I want them to be challenged as well as encouraged. I want them to learn proper foundations, understand the styles they’re learning and have teachers who recognise when they’re capable of more.

I want them to have opportunities, experiences and memories they’ll take with them long after they’ve left the studio.

And along the way? Absolutely, I want them to make friends, laugh, build confidence and feel like they belong here. ❤️

But I’ll always believe that part should come as standard.

We don’t just want children to attend BDC. We want them to grow here.

Obsession for Progression. 🖤

How’s everyone’s summer going? ☀️💛

I’ve been a little quieter on here over the holidays but I’ve definitely not been sitting still! 😅

I’ve managed to have some lovely time with the kids, whilst behind the scenes I’ve been giving BDC a bit of a summer reset… sorting, organising, a little painting, planning for the new dance year and finally creating myself a proper little office space! 🙌😂

There’s still plenty to do (is there ever not?! 😂), but I’m definitely getting excited to have the studios full of dancers, music and the usual BDC chaos again! ❤️ We’ve also got some lovely new faces joining us in September who I can’t wait to welcome. 🥰

But enough about me… what’s been the highlight of your summer so far? ☀️

And parents… how are we surviving? 😂 Still loving the holidays or quietly counting down to September? 🙋‍♀️😂

Finally getting round to tackling the aftermath of Summer School! 🧹✨

It might look like we’re off for the summer, but there’s always plenty to do behind the scenes. Lots still left to sort, but it’s a start! 😅

What a fantastic way to finish our Summer School 2026! ☀️

Our final day was all about fun at our very own carnival festival! From Hook a Duck, Splat the Rat, Coconut Shy (definitely a firm favourite! 🥥), Ring Toss, Sweet Pong and glitter stations…to delicious hot dogs, laughs, games and so much more. There was something for everyone to enjoy!

We finished the day with lots of water fun, plenty of smiles and the perfect way to round off an amazing week. 💦💛

Thank you to everyone who came along and made this week’s Summer School so special. We’ve loved seeing the children make new friends, have fun, try new things and make lots of memories along the way.

A big thank you to our team for all their hard work throughout the week and to all the parents for all your support.

We’ll be sharing lots more photos and a highlights reel over the next few days, but for now… thank you for another brilliant Summer School! ❤️
