PICTURE THIS: What a double, double act. Louise Welsh led the way for female boxing in the Holy Trinity club with a career spanning around 16 years. Her dad, popular HT coach, Drew, was by her side every step of the way and he still plays a major role in the club's coaching team. Lisburn lass Louise, now the Participation & Engagement Officer at Boxing Ireland scooped top honours in several Antrim, Ulster and Irish Intermediate Championships. There were also Gold and Silver medals from the Celtic Box Cup before finishing her career on a high with Gold at the all-female Esker Box Cup multi-nation tournament in 2017. Her HT clubmate, Gilford girl Clodagh McComiskey took Silver on a day to remember for the Turf Lodge club. Along with her dad, former champion and Gilford club coach, Bernard, they're another class boxing double act.
