MEGAN

Megan brings a whole lot of passion, enthusiasm, and a massive burst of energy to the studio. (And oranges- if you know, you know)

As a qualified Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor, Megan loves helping people feel empowered and confident in their own skin. For her, movement isn't just about fitness—it’s about how good it makes you feel!

When she isnt in the studio, you'll likely find her listening to some good tunes, at a coffee shop, planning her next adventure or maybe rowing down the Lagan.

Right now, you can catch Megan bringing the heat to our hot classes, and keep your eyes peeled because she will be hitting the Reformers very soon!

MEET RACHAEL

Or "Ray", for short.

Pilates started as a shared routine with her mum (love this!) And quickly became a passion.

With a background in Food & Nutrition and a Master’s in Public Health, Ray brings a holistic perspective to movement and wellbeing, helping clients build strength, improve mobility, and feel more connected to their bodies.

You'll find her on the mat bright and early on Sunday mornings 🌄

SOCKS - ON OR OFF?

Alot of studios state that grip socks are "essential" or "mandatory".

This is fascinating to me! I swear before COVID we were all barefoot.

So what's  the deal?

Let's take a deep dive into the pros of each.

ON 🧦
1) Hygiene - We're on our feet all day, socks help add a little cleanliness barrier to protect equipment and keep it clean.

2) Grip - That's what they're designed for! They can add a little help with balance.

3) Comfort - They're cosy, I'll admit.

4) Style - The post COVID glow up of the grip sock has given us so much choice of colours and styles to play with.

OFF 🦶
1) Proprioception - or 'sensory feedback'. Our feet are full of nerve endings that provide sensory feedback and help us connect with the surface below us, improving body awareness.

2) Grip - Poor quality or ill fitting grip socks can slip beneath our feet and hinder our grip, unlike the natural grip of our feet.

3) Comfort - Sometimes the feet just want to breathe when working out. Especially in hot classes!

4) Muscle activation- This one is linked to grip. If your sock is slipping all over the place, your body will recruit different muscles to try and keep the sock in place rather than focus on the exercise.

So really, it is up to you!

We will never turn you away for being barefoot, or make you buy socks. 🤎

Our equipment is cleaned after use and our reformer loops are wipeable and laundered regularly.

And lastly, some food for thought, we use our hands as much as our feet in class... but we don't make gloves mandatory? (Feel free to wear them though)

MATWORK PILATES

We've been all about the reformer over here for the past 2 years, but it's time to talk about matwork.

What's the difference?
Matwork is entirely your own body weight.

That's the main thing, really.

We love our resistance springs on the reformer, but did you know they're also there to help you out? (I know, it doesn't feel that way!)

Just think of a reformer class with no springs at all.
Hard work, right?

That's why instead of shorting it to 'Mat Pilates', we're sticking to 'Matwork Pilates.'

Not convinced? Come give it a try with 2 classes for £15.

Also shout out to .collective for our beautiful mats!

JUMPBOARDS

I've talked about these for ages now and they're finally here, but what are they?

They're a padded footplate that attach in the end of the reformer for a little extra cardio in class.

Think jumping but without the impact for happy, healthy joints.

Increase the resistance and feel the burn in your legs, decrease it and feel the core work extra hard.

2 YEARS!! 🎂

I don't like to make a big deal of things, but I'm so proud of what this studio has become 🧡

2 years ago it was just me with this vision, a big bright space with lots on offer and a wonderful team of instructors who each bring their own individual flare to classes.

Back then I had no idea who, if anyone, would show up.

But you did. And you keep showing up and I want to say a massive thank you. Whether it was one day, one week or maybe youre still moving with us, thank you.

And thank you to , forever grateful!

Swipe right for baby me on my first day ever teaching reformer.

Whose going to tell her? 🙃
