Well that was some weekend 😥😮💨
Finally starting to feel human again after a long weekend (and week of setting up) of pool and streaming.
Before I begin, just want to say a massive thank you to Shotz Arbroath and Prize Hero for sponsoring the streams this weekend. It’s greatly appreciated guys 👏🏻👏🏻 check them both out!
First up we had the Arbroath Open, generously sponsored by Arbroath Trophies. A massive congratulations to Greg Alexander on retaining the title! Commiserations to Nick Denson who fought hard to the end, taking Greg to the final frame. Well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
On to finals day and we had the quarter finals of the Consolation cup, semis of the Knockout Cup, Arbroath Doubles Final and Arbroath Singles last 16.
Well done to Newgate 1 on winning the consolation cup and Station on winning the knockout cup 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Both teams looked unbeatable all day!
The doubles final featured Roy Middleton & John Fotheringham taking on Jamie Cadman & Keir Hamilton. Both pairs played some incredible pool in the final but Roy & John proved their 123 years of shared experience was too much and took the victory! Well done guys 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Finally the flagship of Arbroath Pool, the Arbroath Singles…..
Both finalists came through strong opposition to get there, fighting their way to the last game.
Gordon Dickson took out his teammate David Jack in a deciding frame 5-4 to secure his spot while Graham Dunbar faced another station teammate, Greg Alexander, also winning a deciding frame 5-4.
I don’t know what they put in the water at the Station but I wish they’d share it with the rest of us! 😂
The final then saw 2 very experienced players battling hard for the title. But, sadly, there can only be one champion on the day and Dunny retained the Arbroath Singles trophy for another year, winning 6-3 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 A huge congratulations to both players, you’ve done so well!
With Graham being Chicken Streams only sponsored player, I can’t tell you how much it meant to see him win the competition that means more to him than any other AGAIN!
Thank you to every single one of you that’s tuned in over the last season and that’s subscribed to the YouTube channel, I can’t tell you how much it means to me. Streaming is a passion of mine, I took this on as I felt it was important to document the ADPL’s players successes and showcase the talent we have in such a small town.
This has now led me to streaming SPA events and I honestly can’t tell you all how much that’s meant, and it’s down to you folks watching and subscribing to the channel so thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❤️
I’m off for a break for a few weeks to recharge the batteries (not just the tablets). 🙃
