Ressie report

We started really well, with the lads listening to the management and setting out exactly how we wanted them to. We controlled the game and it wasn’t long before Matty Moxon grabbed the first goal of the new OSL campaign, with an assist from Eddie Gregory.

We let our foot off the gas a little, allowing them back into the game at 1-1. A strong end to the half saw Carl Bolton getting the lads going and assisting the new coach himself, putting us 2-1 up at half-time.

With the rain now absolutely battering down, it was a close call to even get the second half started. Shortly after, we let them back in again to make it 2-2, but the lads dug deep. With the weather and pitch conditions making it a real scrap, we finally got our reward.

On his league debut, Callum Telfer found Eddie, who found the back of the net to make it 3-2! ⚽

After that, the lads had complete control of the game, continuing to create chances and coming close on numerous occasions.

⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ANNOUNCEMENT⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

WIth the season only a couple of days away we thought it was best to announce the new management..... or should we say returning management 👀

First up we have Lewis Allen returning to the first team , new league new challenge, a serial winner and is looking forward to getting back to it .

Next up is the chairman Pete Ivey , after a long hiatus from management he'll be taking up the role of reserve manager. Excited to be back amongst it and cant wait to shout nonsense on the side lines again.

Last but not least, it's the baconator Luke Meehan , hes shown real leadership this preseason and will certainly be a future manager but for now he'll be taking up a coaching role in the reserves.

Everything is aligned for a fantastic season at DFC.

Come down and support as much as possible as we try and add our name on more trophies 🏆

******* BIG THANKS *******

With the travellers fully exited the pitch and the clean up has mostly finished we at DFC would like to say thank you to Oxford Skip Hire Ltd for donating a skip for us to get rid of the crap they left and the wonderful villagers for coming together and helping us clear the field so both men and youth teams can get back to normality. Its really appreciated 👏

Then to abingdon towns Sandy Bolton and Andy Bone aswell as Milton United Football Club for the loan of pitches so we could continue our preseason at a critical time .

Really shows that people can come together in a time of need or criticise.

Massive thanks to all involved and especially our Debbie Harris who relentlessly worked to get everything sorted .
